Synopsis
«©NCSX»
Ten generals from the Spectral Force and Generation
of Chaos games eschew the tactical shenanigans and
jaunt to another type of battlefield for 1-on-1
bouts in 2D
arenas. Razor-edged bruisers such as Erile, Earth,
and Wells face off against each other in fast paced
action and they're pretty much evenly matched in
terms of speed and power. Then there's the dainty
and delicate Mayura who not only looks fragile but
her moves are more like gestures or cheerleading
moves than attacks.
The ten fighters featured in the game are:
Hiro / Scythe wielding lassie who wears a
demon gauntlet
Wells / Adventurer who battles for pleasure
and sport
Orochimaru / Blonde samurai warrior with an
enchanted sword
Roze / Demon girl who vows vengeance against
mankind
Krayce / One-eyed master swordsman with
flaming red hair
Ryuken / Martial artist who looks down upon
those who use weapons
Erile / Redheaded knight who is protected by
guardian spirits
Jadou / Purple haired demon with tentacles
emanating from his back
Mayura / Human and demon half-breed who
wishes to be human
Earth / Controlling angel of Neverland
A total of eleven stages may be fought on.

the D-pad forward or double tap to jump back.
» Spectral VS. Generation was developed by
Taiwanese company IGS. The art style of the game is
reminiscent of Last Blade and Vampire. The frames of
animation for some of the characters such as Orochimaru seem a little off from what we remember
from the coin-op version. Other characters like Mayura are however as smooth as we recall.
» The loading times are fast and the game
controls are very responsive. It is simple to chain
attacks and combos together for multi-hit barrages.
Spectral VS. Generation also features Chaos
breaking, Chaos counter, and recovery moves for
players to practice and execute for devastating
effects.
» Chaos breaking Activate by pressing
SQUARE+TRIANGLE to avoid an incoming attack and
paralyze opponent. Works on the ground and in
mid-air.
» Seal of time renders an opponent inert and
gives players time to gather power for a massive
attack.
» Fierce Flame Awakening ramps up attack and
defense capabilities for a limited amount of time.
Use when life is more than 2/3 gone.
» Chaos counters are used to cancel a guard
move and counterattack
» Recovery allows for mid-air protection before
smashing into the ground
» Four special moves/attacks may be mapped to
the L1, L2, R1, and R2 buttons by configuring them
in the Controller Set option.
» There are two secret characters in the
game: Super Hiro and Super Jadou but the coin-op
code does not work when executed on the character
select screen.
» The final boss is a kicked up version of
Earth named Holy God Earth.
