During the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, eleven Israeli athletes
are taken hostage and murdered by a Palestinian
terrorist group known as Black September. In
retaliation, the Israeli government recruits a group
of Mossad agents to track down and execute those
responsible for the attack.

As the film opens, four Americans confront a group
of eight Palestinians outside a
fence to the Olympiastadion Mϋnchen and ask "What's
your event?" as well as "Where are you guys from?"
before one says to another, "They don't speak
English, man." Without receiving any audible
replies, the Americans help boost the contingent over the fence and into the venue. Once everyone is
on the other side, the two groups part ways and the terrorists disappear into the recesses of
a building. Once inside, the Palestinians quickly
remove firearms from their duffel bags, gather
together in a circle of encouragement, and mobilize.
They locate and then push into a hotel room containing a group of
Israeli athletes. Afterwards, the hostage crisis is viewed by various contingents around the
world on rickety televisions... the kind that had
knobs and no remote. |
