Synopsis
«©NCSX»
In an issue of Famitsu last month, readers of the
magazine voted Machi (aka Town Fate Crossing) their
fifth favorite game of all time. TOP FIVE. Games
that didn't make the top five include Metal Gear
Solid 2, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VII, Radiant
Silvergun, Ikaruga, and Sakura Taisen. The other
games in the top five were as follows:
Eve Burst Error
Grandia
Yu-No
Langrisser V - The End of
Legend
Note that all five games were Saturn
releases although Machi was eventually released on
the Playstation a year after the Saturn version.
With this in mind, prospective buyers may cast an
admiring eye towards this release although it's
import unfriendly.
The story focuses on the lives of eight Japanese citizens and their
social connections and interplay during the course
of five days. The characters are as follows:
Masami Ushio - Age 36, a member of the Yakuza with a
scar on the right side of his face
Yohei Tobisawa - Age 18, a high-school student who
wears a blue suit
Jintaro Umabe - Age 36, an actor who looks like
Masami Ushio
Keima Amemiya - Age 25, a goofy looking detective
who wears a floppy hat
Yoshiko Hosoi - Age 20, the sole female operative in
the adventure
Fumiyasu Ichikawa - Age 38, a writer who looks like
he doesn't have a sense of humor
Ryuji Takamine - Age 25, a rough looking guy who was
a deserter
Masashi Shinoda - Age 21, a college student;
Players make choices for the various characters and
then watch how those choices play out during the
course of the interactive adventure. To add to the
value, two scenarios have been added to the PSP
version.
