PS2 Kimikiss - New Import
Bonus CD

All preorders will include a bonus "kimikiss prelude kiss CD" which contains 7 tracks spanning a total of 28.80 minutes. There's no singing on the disc but rather a lot of talking as the voice actresses who provide the speech in the game engage in audio drama. The third track is particularly strange where Mao Mizusawa struggles to wake up, washes, and greets her parents before heading for school where she engages in thoughtful introspection. Please note that we have now given away all of the CDs and none are available for new orders placed after 11:50AM EST today. Sorry.

NCS Synopsis
«©NCSX» It's September and summer vacation has just ended. Students resume their studies after a 40 day hiatus from July 20 to August 31. With the new semester starting off, players assume the role of a high school student named Koichi Aihara who lives at home with a younger sister named Nana.

Koichi has never been kissed. Not even a peck. Anxious to improve his love life, he resolves to get intimate with a classmate sometime during the first month of the school semester. That's 30 days to develop a romantic relationship with a girl. With a little charm and steely-eyed determination, Koichi might finally receive a smooch from one of six classmates. At the outset of the game, Nana wakes Koichi up and reminds him that summer vacation's over and school beckons. The two walk to class together and part ways. Henceforth, Koichi's days are made up of deciding what to do at school, selecting the best places to meet potential love interests, and going home to tally up his love points with the various girls by consulting in Nana's room.

When interacting with a female classmate, players may use the Match Conversation System where five topics out of over 50 subjects may be selected to converse with a girl. The topics appear as icons encapsulated inside colorful bubbles. For example, the shopping bag icon elicits her love of shopping while the icon which shows a knife above a carrot gets her gabbing about food preparation. Other topics include shopping, sports, music, and other subjects conducive to hearty conversation.

NCS Game Notes
» In the intro to the game, blue skies tinged with clouds waver overhead as the camera pans upwards. The text that appears soon afterwards is:

You smiled at me comfortably
So i gotta tell you
Sweet heart is given only in kiss

Lens flares appear followed by an image of brown haired girl named Yuumi Hoshino standing by a window followed by the title screen.

» Upon pressing START, the following options appear:

NEW GAME / Begin a new love adventure
LOAD GAME / Resume a game from memory card
OPTIONS / Adjust BGM and SE volumes, toggle Dual Shock vibration

» The protagonist's name is Koichi Aihara but you may change it if you wish. After entering your name, the camera pans over a city as dusk settles over the area and stars pepper the skies. The background story is laid out by way of text boxes and the camera soon rests on the outside of Koichi's home. In the next scene, a girl named Nana appears and peers over the mattress of a bed. She's trying to wake Koichi up and eventually he does. The siblings walk to school and Koichi's friend Akira Hiiragi greets him in the hallway. Later, Yuumi and Tomoko Kawada greet him upstairs and have a short conversation. The school bell rings and it's a day.

» Back home, players may familiarize themselves with the game system options such as save/load data at home, catch up with sis, obtain information on how the various girls feel about him, go to sleep (third option), etc. Through the early going, pages of illustrated gameplay tips are shown which teach a player about how the game works, where to meet girls, and other functions.

» In the second day of school, Koichi makes a paper airplane and throws it. As it flies through the air, it passes behind a girl named Eriko Futami. She introduces herself and strikes up a conversation. At this point, Koichi gets a chance to perform an action which will increase her affinity towards him. If you choose the wrong action, nothing will happen to help your cause. Once you've built up a rapport with a girl and have some points with her, anything you do to irritate or displease her will knock a notch off her affinity towards you.

» At the beginning of each school day, there are four choices where the player selects the spots that he wants to visit or attend over the course of the day. The venues are shown on an isometric icon map over the school grounds. There is a total 13 places to go to. Once you select one, it will be added to your scheduler located on the lower left corner of the screen.

» The next day, if you elect to go to class, you will meet Eriko again and you'll get chances to increase her affinity towards you by talking about subjects such as shopping, hot springs, food, etc. The subjects are shown as colorful icons positioned within colorful outlines.

» The next girl that the protagonist meets and builds his street cred with is a girl who loves to cook named Narumi Satonaka. When he first meets her, she's wearing a blue apron

» The voices for the supporting cast of characters are spoken by actors and actresses but the protagonist has no voice of his own - his dialogue is only shown as white text in the text boxes at the bottom of the screen.

» There is no automatic parsing of the text in the game and the speed of the text cannot be changed. The voices of the various characters are also monoaural. The history of text and events that have preceded the current time cannot be reviewed.

» In Japan, summer vacation for high school students starts on July 20 and is marked by the Marine Day (Umi-no-Hi) holiday where the citizens celebrate the sea and its riches. For the duration of roughly 40 days up until August 31, students get a chance to enjoy a relatively lengthy respite before the ennui of school starts anew. For some students however, there is no leisure time. College-minded juniors and seniors normally spend their summer vacation at juku where they prepare for their competitive entrance exams. With diligence and determination, they may get into a college of their choice.
