Ninty served up another helping last year with an expansion cart which extended the life of the game a bit more. With no game sequel in sight, Nintendo licenses the Band Bros brand to Japanese manufacturer Epoch for some musical instrument love. Eight styles are expected and full sets are priced at US$22.

«©NCSX» Udon is a thick noodle that's best served in a pork-based broth and sprinkled with a smattering of chopped scallions. A few slices of boiled egg and perhaps a bit of tofu may also be added... at least according to 'Gamma Reiko. Looking nothing like a noodle, Captain Udon is a spandex wearing superhero who makes his debut in this summer's Udon movie directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro.

   Bowing on August 26, 2006, Udon tells the story of a luckless 31-year old named Kosuke who accidentally discovers the power of good Udon and aspires to make it the national "soul food" dish of Japan. With help from a magazine editor named Kyoko Miyagawa and a costumed alter-ego, Kosuke conspires to create an Udon craze to be reckoned with.

   Medicom capitalizes on the Udon movie by announcing a Real Action Heroes figure featuring the hero of the movie. With a helmeted visage and a natty costume, Captain Udon battles the dangers of poorly prepared Udon and the evil that accompanies it. The RAH figure measures 300mm tall and is fully posable with articulated limbs and a twisty head. A smaller 13cm Captain Udon figure is also on preorder which ships at the same time as the RAH Udon. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late September 2006.

«©NCSX» Heeding demands from wailing fanboys who missed out on the first production of the KOS-MOS figure, Alter has opened preorders for a new reissue which ships in October. 
   «Original Writeup» When KOS-MOS isn't destroying Gnosis or protecting Shion from danger, she poses like a covergirl for toy sculptors. First, there was the Mon-sieur Bome variation and now Alter's version as sculpted by Takahashi Tsuyoshi reaches market. After inspecting this new variant carefully, we can safely declare that Namco should have hired Alter to produce the KOS-MOS figure that was bundled inside the limited edition of Xenosaga Ep. II. If they had made that decision, the aftermarket price would be outrageously higher than where it is now.
   Succinctly then, Alter's rendition of KOS-MOS is exquisite. Measuring 21cm or 8.26" tall, the blue-haired android features soft lines, the right curves, and a unique pose that allows for viewing parts of KOS-MOS' front and back at the same time. The paint is applied cleanly and free of chips or cracks. We also observed KOS-MOS' garter to make sure it was free of imperfections as well as her fingers... which are individually sculpted and discernible from each other. As an added bonus, KOS-MOS' neatly painted fingernails are colored the same hue as her flailing hair.
