Play as a mercenary and go deep into the dark underground to
discover the self! There was a kingdom once ruled by
a king known as the “Pillage King”. But as he
constantly wages wars with no end, he is finally
driven by the people into the dungeon he created.
But the council, wary of his return, sends a
mercenary group into the dungeon to confirm that he
is dead. As a member of the mercenary group, the
main character falls into a trap. Although he barely
manages to escape, he falls into coma for a year.
When he wakes, he finds that the survivors of the
mercenary group has already left, leaving the main
character alone in the town that was strange to him.
At this time, he hears rumors of either a survivor
of the mercenary group or his spirit roaming the
dungeon, and so the main character decides to enter
and explore the dungeon again…
Exploring in dark dungeons has always been the characteristic
for this series. Using the settings and style of
King Field’s I~III, the player can immerse deeply in
the world.
Using the contrast between the collecting of information at a
safe vantage point (town) and exploring the danger
areas (dungeon), to bring out the harsh excitement
and loneliness.
The combat screen is the one that everybody is familiar with,
the first person view. A defense system is
incorporated this time, enhancing the strategy
factor.
