Measuring a mighty 43cm (16.92") and practically circular on top, the plushes are fairly large and sort of look like turtles. The rimmed shell that covers the creature's entire body is the giveaway along with the slowpoke demeanor...
  
   Similar to the "fur" of the Caltoy pig plush, each turtle is satiny smooth and soft to the touch. The texture of the shell feels like a sheet of velvet with fine tufts of plush material. Despite being so big, each plush is light enough to be lifted by a child or a munchkin without much strain or effort.

   Turtles have a reputation for being slow but in our experience, they can run quickly or swim briskly when the occasion calls. For example, when turtles that are basking under a heat lamp are startled by a loud sound, they can hurtle themselves off an artificial log like green-shelled missiles. Turtles are also known for their longevity. We've had one turtle for over 20 years and it doesn't look a day over 19. It still swims up a storm and observes our daily operations from a distance like a hawk.

However, girls need love too and Konami addresses the shortage of girl dating games by releasing a second Tokimeki Memorial Girls Side. The heroine in GS2 attends Habataki High School and is attracted to the boys at school. In particular, there are 10 males with chiseled features, feathery hair, and fit bodies that have caught her eye. The lead boy is a white-haired lad named Teru Saeki followed by a green-haired guy with glasses named Itaru Hikami. There's red headed rocker Kounoshin Hariya,  a dark Kenshiro look-alike named Katsumi Shiba, and a girl look-alike named Christopher Weatherfield who wears his blonde hair long and braids some of it with ribbons.
   Where male dating strategies are generally direct and to the point, girls have more subtle tactical maneuvers. To attract the boys, one has to stay physically fit, wear the right clothes, perform well in athletic mini-games, and cook up a storm. «©NCSX» Sudoku and Oekaki Logic puzzles are popular diversions in Japan with loyal fans consuming thousands of published puzzles each year. Publisher Success collects 1000 Sudoku and Oekaki exercises of varying difficulty on a single UMD which should keep players busy for a while.
   Numpla is another name for Sudoku with the same rules and game play strategies. Sudoku is a game of numbers where the digits 1 through 9 are placed in a 9x9 play board. Sounds simple enough but the rules dictate that each number can only appear once in any one row or column. Furthermore, the 9x9 board is broken up into nine distinct 3x3 areas that can only hold the numbers 1 through 9 in its squares and no number may be repeated in each 3x3 area.
   The Japanese word "oekaki" translates approximately to "doodle" or "draw" and Oekaki Logic refers to picture creation puzzles where a grid is filled in with colors by following the numbered clues at the side and top margins. For example, if the first line of a grid has the number "1" that's colored green on the left margin, that means there's a green block measuring 1 unit to be filled in somewhere in the first line of the grid. To find out where it is exactly, look at the markings at the top margins of the grid to find a logical matching assignment. Fill the grid in properly by following the clues and a rudimentary picture appears when you're done - be it an image of a turtle, a cabbage, or a duckie.

«©NCSX» Before the madcap mini-games of Baito Hell 2000, musician Pierre Taki and musical collaborator Hideyuki Tanaka had other projects. The two are equal parts in the VJ team known as Prince Tongha and Taki is also part of techno band Denki Groove with partner Takkyu Ishino. In 1998, Pierre Taki contributed to a little known Playstation game known as Denki Groove Jigoku V which featured odd video art and a gaming experience that was capable of creating techno music. If we recall correctly, NCS sold 8 copies of the game and the print run was under 5,000 units.

   With Baito Hell 2000, Pierre and Hideyuki test their video and musical sensibilities with mini-games that exhibit the spirit and verve of their video project known as "30 Minutes Around the World." These are odd, odd mini-games. Odd. They're simple exercises that appear standard until you actually play them and notice the wicked and devilish sense of humor. Although it's easy to dismiss many of the games as the inclinations of fertile and possibly deranged minds, one must examine the pop culture savvy in them as well.

   D3 Publisher plans a USA release of Baito Hell which has been renamed WTF: Work Time Fun. The game is scheduled for Sept. 26, 2006.

Monstrous beasts are just living their lives, munching on grass, or hunting other creatures for sustenance. In other words, doing what comes naturally. Then you come along with your bloodlust, fury, and love of "sport" to ruin the happy lives of monsters. When approaching docile vegetation-eating creatures, they don't pay much mind to a hunter but once you start slashing and cutting like a butcher, they'll vamoose and hide whenever you approach.

   Create a character at the outset and choose the sex, the face type, the hair style, hair color, and even the voice. We created an effeminate-looking warrior with a soul patch and soft features. The game is mission based where solo hunters bag big game or up to four players may team up for cooperative action via ad hoc mode. Capcom promises new missions that may be downloaded through an infrastructure mode connection to a WAP that has internet access.
   New quests, new monsters, and a cooking game are available in MHP. When a big monster is defeated, its fangs, scaly hide, and bones may be used to create weapons or items that are used during battle. In the first quest of the game, the player has to carve meat out of an defeated animal and the second quest features a barbecue theme.

«©NCSX» After Commodore Perry "encouraged" the Japanese to sign the Treaty of Kanagawa on March 31st, 1854 and therefore opened up trade with the United States, Japan was thrown into chaos. Japan's 200 years of self-imposed isolation ended and the samurai ranks began to question the power of the Tokugawa Shogunate and its ability to defend Japan. In his second trip to Japan, Perry had threatened to shell Edo if his demands were not met and the Shogunate had buckled too easily to his whims. Journeying from the whole of Japan, marauding bands of roshis (masterless samurai warriors - not ronins or rurounis) gathered in Kyoto and sought to topple the perceived weak Shogunate and repel the western invaders who had arrived on the black ships.
   Taking place from 1860 through 1869 and reversing the roles of the prequel (Fuun Shinsengumi), players join the ranks of the roshi and battle the Shinsengumi who are policemen hired by the Shogunate to keep the peace. Walk around town, interact with fellow conspirators and engage the team-tactics of the Shinsengumi who beat down on insurgents in squads of four or more. «©NCSX» On a small island, located somewhere across the sea, there lives a young girl named Marone. Gifted with the ability to control phantoms, Marone earns her bread and butter by accepting missions from clients who contact her by way of bottled messages. Upon receiving a request for help, Marone gathers together a cadre of phantoms such as Ash, a mighty swordsman, and the group stalks out on battles and scenarios to make their money. Phantom Brave bears similarities to Disgaea and there's good reason for that - illustrator Takehito Harada returns as character designer with his cel-shade-like renderings and the gaming genre is pure tactical strategy. The movement phase in Phantom Brave does not rely on grids any longer and party members are free to roam the landscape within a certain boundary per move. Battles are also evolved from Disgaea where character with higher agility levels are able to act as the vanguard of a group and attack before those with lower agility. Since Marone's crew consists of ephemeral phantoms, they cannot attack enemies directly. Rather, the phantoms possess inanimate objects, weapons and other battlefield remnants in order to wield them with spiritual force.

Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. 2nd GIG Series 1 Tachikoma
   A reproduction of the Ghost in the Shell Tachikoma Kit arrived earlier in the week and all backorders have shipped. New orders are welcome. The Tachikoma is scaled to 1:24 and the included Motoko Kusanagi figure stands nearly level with the detailed blue mech. Although the Tachikoma ships in kit form, it is easily tinkered together by way of snap-lock assembly.
