As a consequence of energy transference, the object is pushed in the same direction as the water. The New Super Mario Bros Water Game DS operates on this principle where the player uses two jets of water to motivate objects into receptacles. Three variants of the Mario water game are in stock today as follows:

» White Nintendo DS : Mario and Coin Game
   Use the power of water to push five gold coins into a [?] basket.
» Black Nintendo DS : Fire Mario and Ball Game
   Thrust three red spheres and three green spheres into open-mouthed Piranha Plants of the same color.
» Pearl Blue Nintendo DS : Luigi and Block Game
   Send three Tetris blocks of varying shape swirling into a receptacle.

   To play the games, the d-pad on the left and the face-button-pad on the right are pushed to send jets of water coursing through the tiny replica Nintendo DS touch screen. «©NCSX» A kinder and gentler looking Saya Otonashi showcases her sword thrusting skills in a new interactive story based on the Blood+ animation series. With a prettier face and a more athletic body than the pudgy Saya of old, the newtype acts like an actual girl and even smiles from time to time. Saya goes to high school and makes friends like other kids but she has a dark side to her life where she's part of an organization known as Red Shield. Protected by a cellist named Hagi who appears in emergencies with sword in hand, Saya is the first line of defense against creatures known as Yokushu or Chiropterans which subsist on human blood.

Blood+ is primarily an interactive novel which depicts key events of the animated series of the same name. In addition to viewing the Blood+ story, players also engage in full-blown action sequences where Saya battles Yokushu. For the story portion however, players watch as Saya (who has no recollection of her previous life as a vampire slayer) slowly begins to realize her position in the world and her affiliation with the Red Shield group. «©NCSX» Nintendo presents 40+ mini-games which require rhythm and sync to win. Make that strict rhythm and sync skills since the games are challenging and brook no foolishness or ill-timed input. As a rhythm player, gamers pluck hair, swing at balls, punch flower pots, bang drums, and many more. A total of 8 stages which contain 6 mini-games each progressively ramp in difficulty. In order to progress to new rhythm exercises, one must complete each mini-game successfully to advance to the next game.

The introductory exercise is a beat meter of sorts where a video screen thumps out the letter "A" and you're inclined to tap the "A" button in time to the cues on screen. The challenge is to tap as closely as possible to the cues since you're being measured for accuracy. As you continually tap the "A" button, a little chart is printed out which shows the accuracy of your tapping on a zig-zag graph. The closer the tap point on the graph is to the center, the more accurate your tapping rhythm. «more»

PS2 Melty Blood Act Cadenza leads preorders for the week followed by Simple 2000 Series Vol. 105: The Maid Fuku to Kikanjuu. In the latter game, a gun-toting maid from the future hurtles back in time to protect her master from a league of robots. The other Simple 2000 Series game for this week features robot creation and battling but looks unpromising. We'll post impressions once we get a crack at the game.
