NDS Final Fantasy III JPN

NDS Final Fantasy III - New Import
«©NCSX» Originally released in 1990 for the original Nintendo Entertainment System, Square revamps Final Fantasy III with a 3D rendition. Returning to oversee the project is Hiromichi Tanaka who contributed to the design of the NES game along with Nobuo Uematsu who remakes the theme song with full bodied orchestral backup. Although the visuals are 3D, the camera is fixed position and cannot be rotated around when traveling. A zoom feature is available however where players may focus in on the world if so desired and scope out the surroundings closer. As expected with a NDS revamp, the stylus may be used for full control in the game from walking to running to igniting a two-handed sword attack. «NCS Game Notes»

NDS Final Fantasy III Crystal JPN

NDS Final Fantasy III Crystal Edition - New Import
«©NCSX» Speculative vendors got gouge-happy again this week and shot for the stars by boosting the price of the FFIII DS bundle to ¥41,921 or US$362.22. Against our advisement, customers still confirmed their preorders and we are shipping those orders today. Everyone who confirmed as of 5:55PM EST yesterday will ship this afternoon.
For everyone else who is waiting for prices to drop, we will post updates on our website and send out emails if there are price changes in the next few days. We are aware of sizable supplies of the FFIII DS Lite Bundle being hoarded by traders. If sellers can't get their asking price within the next week or two, lofty valuations will get dumped as the speculative froth dies down. We've seen it many times before and we'll see it again in the future. Largish scans of the front and back of the bundle are linked today.

NDS Rune Factory JPN

NDS Rune Factory - New Import
«©NCSX» A lad suffering from amnesia stumbles into a town and has the extreme luck to faint right in front of the house of a kindly young gal. She rushes out, hands him a hoe, a watering can, and something to eat. With that inauspicious beginning, the lad becomes a farmer with a penchant for exploring the land and going on adventures. At the outset of the game, the hero occupies a farmhouse which is adjacent to a large field. The land is cluttered with twigs, plants, rocks, and acorn-like things. By cleaning up the field and tilling bare ground, the land is made ready for agriculture. A pack of seeds is on hand at the beginning but more seeds may be purchased at the town "Parts" store for profitable cash crops. «NCS Game Notes»

PS2 Strawberry Panic! JPN

PS2 Strawberry Panic! Regular Edition - New Import
«©NCSX» Three girls' schools are perched on Astraea Hill - Saint Miator Girls' Academy, Saint Spica's Academy, and Lelim Girls' School. St Miator is the most prestigious but Saint Spica tenders a tempered rivalry against it. Lelim is a more laid-back campus with girls who are content to watch the drama play out between the two schools. To add to the hi jinx, students from the three schools share a common dormitory known as Strawberry Dormitory. One consequence of all the girls' schools on the hill is that it is a sacred area and no men are allowed to enter. As such, the girls find their romantic entanglements with each other.
The game is played over the course of a school semester with the first day landing on April 1. Each day concludes with an SD image of the heroine slumped over her computer in her room with an email message from a girl that she has interacted with during the day. As the heroine sleeps, the object of her affection appears in a thought bubble above her head. The first day in the game requires over a full hour of non-interactive reading and getting acquainted with the girls. On the first day of class, Nagisa gets acquainted with Chiyo but the second day has her feeling love for Amane. A procession of other girls fill up the next few days... «NCS Game Notes»

PS2 Strawberry Panic! JPN

PS2 Strawberry Panic! Limited Edition - New Import
«©NCSX» The limited edition of Strawberry Panic! features an alternative cover where Aoi Nagisa and Suzumi Tamao clasp hands while giving each other something called an "almost smooch." In the animation series, many "almost smooches" may be witnessed where girls look like they're about to kiss but don't. The two girls are dressed in the frilly regulation issue uniform of the St Miator Girls' Academy and Aoi rests her hand on Suzumi's thigh. Pink things are scattered around them but they're not cherry blossoms... no, they're pink feathers that appear to have been dropped by a distressed flamingo overhead.

In addition to the PS2 game software, a bonus drama CD is also included where twelve voice actresses from the animation series participate in three original scenarios. Listen in as the girls engage in vocal theatrics and create intrigue and mirth. The drama CD is packaged in a DVD case and bundled together with the game DVD in a pretty slip case. Fans of Strawberry Panic! who enjoy the energetic and moody intonations of the voice actresses will appreciate the quality of the recordings and the background sounds and music which set the mood and enhance the drama. «NCS Game Notes»

PS2 Wrestle Angels: Survivor JPN

PS2 Wrestle Angels: Survivor - New Import
«©NCSX» Originally released in 1992 for the Japanese PC-98, Success revives an old computer game series on the PS2. Players takes on the role of a troupe manager and coach who represents wrestlers. Not just any gang of wrestlers but brawlers of the female persuasion. The original Wrestle Angels game featured 40 wrestlers but the PS2 version adds 70 Amazon grapplers for a total of 110 wrestlers in total. Features from the other Wrestle Angels game have also been included such as group management mode.
Played in tactical management style instead of action based antics, the game allows players to recruit new girls, check the stats of wrestlers, and apportion funds to the development of the gals. With some seed money, the player grows a franchise from a fledgling operation to a renowned wrestling franchise. The aim of the game is match creation where wrestlers are pitted against each other over the course of a season.
Winning bouts will lead to earnings and increased popularity which in turn increases the purses that they may potentially win. As the popularity of a league of wrestlers grows in repute and renown, players may keep the momentum going by signing new wrestlers and creating new matches which energize the audience. «NCS Game Notes»

PSP Guilty Gear Judgment JPN

PSP Guilty Gear Judgment - New Import
«©NCSX» Originally built on Sammy's modular Atomiswave hardware and released in September of 2005, Guilty Gear XX Slash garnered favorable press and much love from the fan base. Playstation 2 owners got the game in April of this year in a quick hop-step from arcade to home. Four months later, Arc System ports the game to the PSP, stretches the aspect ratio to 16:9, and adds a side scrolling action game to the mix of modes. Two players may also hook up via ad hoc mode and bout it out wirelessly.

Similar to the PS2 version of GGXX Slash, the action runs fast with smooth game play as fighters charge into battle and perform roman cancels, double jumps, and make the most of their burst and tension gauges. Two new fighters join the GGX2 fold: A.B.A and Order-Sol. To be clear, A.B.A is only a new character within the canonical framework of the Guilty Gear X series since she originally debuted in the Guilty Gear Isuka game from 2004. A.B.A is an artificial life form who isn't very strong but can use on-the-fly blood transfusions to change modes from meek automaton to rampaging death dealer. A.B.A is limited to using three blood packs per match and loses health when she's in Moroha or double-edge mode. A.B.A carries a massive key named Paracelsus which she swings for attacks. A.B.A. can be seen leaning against it at the outset of every match for support. Holy Order-Sol is a new character to the GGX fold who is a throwback version of Sol Badguy when he was a member of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights. «NCS G-Notes»
