Game Synopsis
«©NCSX»
When the
Book of Happiness is torn asunder, a sullen pall of
despair descends upon the land. Without happiness to
goad the masses along, industry and commerce falter.
To bring everyone's spirits back up, a hero or
heroine must venture forth and reassemble the Book
of Happiness and bring joy back into the world.
Remindelight is a conventional RPG which makes full use of the
stylus for attacks, defense, and spell casting. For
example, to attack a crab creature, simply poke at
it and damaged is impacted. To defend, push left on
the d-pad and then move the shield around to block
attacks. When casting a spell, flames encircle a
rock-like sphere on the touch screen. By deftly
swishing the stylus and dragging all of the flames
into the sphere, it grows ever larger until it is
sent zooming at the enemy at full power.

Game Notes
» At the
outset of game, players choose a character from 4
possibilities and then select left or right-handed
play and difficulty level. Each of the four
characters hail from different tribes and have an
elemental alignment as well as a weapon specialty.
The first character from the Shiru tribe is named
Saafu and fights with a sword and uses fire magic.
We chose him as our hero.
» The game starts off inside a cottage where mama
greets the hero. Afterwards, they both walk to a
library where Saafu runs into a cloud creature
zooming across the aisles. After befriending it, the
adventure begins with both of them leaving the
library together. To visit the netherworld, drop
into one of the wells with black smoke wafting above
it. Enemies appear on the exploration map as little
tornado-like things.
» Control in the game is through the d-pad and
stylus only. The face buttons don't do anything in
the default settings but they may be set to control
the main character (like the d-pad) for left-handed
players. When this is toggled, the d-pad is rendered
inactive. To access inventory and use items, press
the START button and then tap on the item(s) to be
used. The d-pad summons the following actions during
an encounter:
L..........Raise shield to block blows
R..........Attack
U..........Cast magic spell
D..........Summon item screen to use elixirs or
hearts
» When the shield is raised, it can be moved around
the screen with the stylus to block attacks by
creatures by placing the shield directly in front of
the attacker.
» To run, press and hold with the L or R trigger and
then move the d-pad in a direction.
» Battle System: Tap stylus on enemy that appears on
screen to hit it with weapon. An attack bar appears
above the HP and MP gauges which shows the amount of
attack power available. Each strike drains it before
it slowly recovers. Continually attacking will drain
it near empty and your attacks are on hold until the
gauge recovers.
» During travels, fruits and other prizes may be
seen on top of trees. To grab them, tap on the fruit
and the cloud-like familiar will race out and nab
the morsel for your inventory.
» The trees in the netherworld are colored pink. The
grass is green however.
» To save progress in the game at any time, press
the START button and tap on the third option from
the left on the top row of options. Next tap on one
of the four boxes that appear and a red imprint of a
happy cloud face will appear. On the bottom of the
screen are three pulsating selections. Tap on the
leftmost selection and in the next screen, tap on
the left option. DONE.
» When fighting frogs or crabs, they'll hunker down
and protect themselves by covering their eyes with
their webbed front feet or claws. When in a
defensive posture, your attacks generally miss or
impact no damage. There's no energy gauges for the
enemy attackers which leaves the state of their
health up in the air during an encounter.
