Game Synopsis
«©NCSX»
The
Negima! Magister Negi Magi manga has sold over
7,000,0000 copies since debuting in 2003. As with
any popular franchise, the Negima
characters have made their way into numerous merchandising
opportunities including figures, posters, mugs, and
high profile video games. The latest of the latter
reaches market this week with an interactive
adventure + battle sim where players take on the role of Negi
Springfield who looks after an entire class of
31 female students. To interact with students, the
touch screen is tapped to talk and engage in lengthy
bouts of interplay.
After interaction, battles may be triggered where enemies are
encountered and fought in tactical grid-based arenas.
Bonus Schwag
All preorders will include a bonus Drama CD. While supplies
last, we will include the bonus with new orders.

Game Notes
» The NDS Negima game mashes together
interactive sequences with stylus-powered tactical
battles where Negima and allies are moved and then
pressed to attack foes.
» Negi Springfield's relationships with his
students are important. The friendlier they are, the
more cohesive their fighting efficiency on the
battlefield.
»
Press START and the following options appear:
Game Start / Begin a new adventure and take on the
role of Negima Springfield
Continue / Resume a game already in progress from card
save data
Option / Toggle BGM [On/Off], SE [On/Off], Voice
[On/Off], 4 Button Mode [On/Off]
Omake / Gallery Mode and Voice Mode [Must be
unlocked]
»
At the outset of the game, Negima is standing with
Kotaro Inugami and having a conversation when a
procession of girls from the manga/animation series
appear and join the conversation. This sequence
lasts for about 20 minutes and introduces players to
the gals and storyline. There's no actual
interaction during the introduction and you're
basically reading and pressing the A button or
tapping the touch screen to advance the dialogue
text. After the sequence is over, you're prompted to
select a save slot from three possible selections.
» Afterwards, an isometric battlefield
appears with Keitaro and Asukana next to each other
on the center of the screen while Fei Ku stands to
the upper right. It's a practice battle and Fei's
provide
the opposing muscle to match up against. Actions are
selected from a text based menu which pops up on the
upper left corner of the screen. The options are as
follows:
MOVE
ATTACK
SKILL
END TURN
EXTRA [LOAD GAME, EXIT TO TITLE SCREEN, RESTART
LEVEL]
»
Before the first battle begins, highlighting any of
the options and pressing the "A-Button" will show a short
tutorial which explains each option.
»
To attack an enemy, sidle next to him on a
contiguous square and select the ATTACK
option. A new screen loads up which shows the
character running from a side view to
meet the opponent. The Y, X, B, A, and R buttons are
used in the battle to attack and defend. For example, A strikes out
Negima's cane to do a double-hit smack down, B throws
out a weak attack, X performs a
weak kick attack, and Y is for a strong kick
» Cosplay is a major part of
the game with new costumes unlocked for the girls to
wear and provide fan service. Some examples of
costumes include Valkyrie armor, a maid's outfit,
bunny girl suit with ears, a nurse's uniform with a huge hypodermic
needle, and others. Thirty two gals from the
animation are featured in the game who all provide
unique personalities to interact with and enjoy.
