Game Synopsis
«©NCSX»
After watching a purple-caped magician perform a
twirling costume change on television, Wario gets
another brilliant idea and creates a mega-mighty
helmet of transformation. When he triggers it, the
helmet inexplicably sends Wario into the world of television
where the portly miscreant challenges the
TV magician across various levels of action-packed
platform action.
Wario by himself is an imposing force of nature but even he has
limitations. That's where his new helmet comes in
handy which gives Wario the ability to transform
into different personas. Early in the game, the
"spaceman" incarnation is usable where the player
draws a circle to change Wario into a raygun
wielding hero.

Game Notes
» Wario is sitting at home watching TV and
picking his nose when a magician appears on the air.
Getting an idea from the magician's transformation,
Wario goes into his workroom and crafts a special
helmet capable of transformations. When something
goes awry, Wario finds himself transported into the
magical world of television. Dropping in on the
level, Wario lands on top of the magician and
subsequently embarks on an adventure of disguises
and new abilities.
» The first portion of the game takes place aboard a
cruise ship where Wario engages in training missions
to learn the methods of transformation and usage of
new weapons and skills. Abilities are unlocked by
performing simple tasks. For example, to get the
"Space Wario" incarnation with raygun and the bubble
helmet, players have to examine an object with
different colored parts. It will change color and
you'll have to select a color from the palette on
the left and then fill in the color of the changed
parts to the original color. Once done, you're
rewarded.
» The next five exercises are described below in the
sequence that we encountered them:
1), Tap on a sphere on one end of a convoluted maze
and drag it to the finish line without touching the
sides of the maze.
2) Five objects appear over 5 receptacles. Memorize
their positions and associations. Once the game
starts, the objects will fall from the top of the
screen so tap and drag them into the receptacles
where they belong.
3) An outline of a scepter appears. Draw in the
lines of the scepter (trace over them with the
stylus) while a laser moves up and down on the
screen. You'll have to draw in the lines while
avoiding the laser.
4) Streams of five bugs per line run into the
screen. Tap on them to squash.
5) A total of 20 coins numbered from 1-20 are
littered on the screen. Tap on 1 and then go through
all 20 coins in numerical order to make a contiguous
line.
» To change Wario's forms, tap and hold the stylus
on Wario and a pink cloud will burst from him. That
indicates that you'll be able to draw a new scribble
to change his forms.
» In one area of the early levels, there are two
crates which block your way. If you're in the space
suit + raygun incarnation, you won't be able to jump
over it. To overcome it, tap the stylus on Wario and
hold it. Draw a checkmark. Wario will change into
his grungy self and scale those two crates with
ease.
» The conclusive battle on the cruise ship is
against the magician who's riding a little vehicle
with a drill in front. The magician throws bombs at
Wario which lie around for a little while before
exploding. You'll have to use a combo of laser fire
and regular Mario bashing to defeat him. Here's the
tactic - When the light on top of Magician's ship
glows, shoot the laser at the light to temporarily
bring the vehicle down. Once the magician's down,
change into the muscle bound Wario and attack him
with a dash attack. You'll have to do this three
times to finish him off. When attacking the vehicle
and destroying the bombs, hearts and diamonds will
pop out for health power-ups and bonus points.
» Movement may be inputted through the D-pad or the
Face buttons which serve the same functions. For
example, pushing up on the D-pad makes Wario jump
and pressing X does the same thing. To crouch, push
down on the D-pad and pressing B does the same.
» Wario's aim in the game is treasure. To this end,
he uses his various disguises and abilities to
abscond riches from a cruise ship, a museum, ancient
ruins, and other locales.
Wario and the 7 Disguises
Wario can change into 7 different forms and incarnations which are
triggered by drawing scribbles on the touch screen.
For example, to change into Wario's purple-suited
normal form, draw a check-mark on the touch screen.
The other 7 forms or disguises are as follows:
1) To change him into a fire breathing dragon (well,
a dragon suit), draw a lopsided V (that's tilted
towards the right or left) and he'll switch personas
immediately.
2) To wield a raygun and wear a space helmet,
scribble a circle and Wario is outfitted to shoot at
objects in the distance to trigger trap doors and
switches.
3) Wario can also become an artiste by drawing a box
shape with a diagonal line inside from corner to
corner. It has to be drawn in one smooth motion
starting at the lower left and then following
through the entire drawing. Once in artist uniform
with attendant easel, Wario can draw box outlines on
the screen to create stone statues which drop downwards
onto platform triggers for causality. Doors may also
be drawn onto walls.
4) To see invisible objects or platforms with a
radar of sorts, Mario can draw a spoon sign (circle
on top with a line falling downwards from it like a
lollipop) and invisible objects are revealed with an
eerie green glow.
5) Energize Wario like a lantern by scribbling a
jagged lightning bolt which allows him to light up
to show the surroundings when inside a cavern or
cave.
6) When trying to swim around, Wario might be
weighed down underwater or pushed away by strong
currents. To become a pirate of the
high seas, draw a reverse "C" and Wario will be able
to float above the water at will.
7) To become a devil with wings that is capable of
flight, draw a triangle and Wario literally becomes
a lil' devil.
