NDS Puzzle Series Vol. 13: Kanji Puzzle - New Import, In Stock

NCS Game Synopsis
«©NCS» At first glom, Kanji Puzzle looks like a variation of crossword and in a sense, it is, but the key to solving each puzzle is inference and adept kanji interpretation. The top NDS screen shows the complete play board which measures 8 x 8 squares in area. An aqua-colored outline reticule which measures 4 x 4 is used to move around the board to show the active play area on the touch screen. The aim of the game is to examine the play board and the kanji characters already arranged therein. Next to the kanji characters are numbers. By using your kanji comprehension skills, replace the numbers with the appropriate kanji characters that link sensibly to the kanji characters already on the board.

The touch screen shows the active play board area (4 x 4 square), a tool section with 8 functions, and a white space area on the right side of the touch screen where you doodle the kanji. The positioning of the windows on the touch screen may be swapped around if so desired. If your kanji creation skills aren't that great, the software will automatically display 8 kanji characters that approximate what you're trying to write. If you see one that matches what you're aiming for, simply tap on it to activate.

The game may also be played where the available kanji characters that fit into the puzzle are toggled on (third option on the top row of the toolbox) and then you simply highlight the numbers and then tap on the character that you wish to place into the number holder. When you think you're done, tap on the check mark on the top tow of the toolbox and the software will flash green on the squares that are correct or purple if you're wrong.

Four BGM selections are available - three are songs but the fourth is the sound of waves crashing against a shore. The occasional squawk of seagulls may be heard in the distance. Players may also opt to mute all music.

After completing a puzzle, you'll earn a star and chipper music plays to signal your success.

The first portion of the game features 35 puzzles that you must finish before moving on to the next batch of puzzles. Puzzles #1-15 are 8 x 8 while puzzles $16-35 span 15 x 15 in area. There are 300 puzzles in all.
