NCS Game Synopsis
«©NCS» Rotate
the NDS 90° counterclockwise and hold it like an
open book. Next, grab the stylus and start poking
at the touch screen to shuffle colored blocks from
left to right or right to left to create color
combinations of at least three blocks in a row or
column. A 2-segment cursor is used to highlight
blocks to move them around to create color matches
and if you're really good, multi-chain
combinations. In addition to a single-player game,
up to four people may link up wirelessly for a
Panel de Pon competition with voice chat
functionality (which requires the Earphone Mic).
Only one cartridge is required for the 4-player
wireless game. Single-player game modes include
High Score Attack which enforces a 2-minute time
limit, a standard Clear Stage Mode, and a VS mode
against the COM.

NCS Game Notes
»
Quick game gist:
Six columns of colored blocks are slowly rising
from the floor. By using the stylus, move the
blocks left and right to create vertical or
horizontal 3-segment color matches.
»
The D-pad can be used to move the cursor-outline
around the screen. We preferred using just the
touch pen however since the cursor snaps
automatically to any point on the touch screen
that you poke. To shuffle a block from left to
right, simply tap on it and then drag it in the
direction desired.
»
The ascent of the blocks may be paused temporarily
by tapping on the "Pause" icon located to the
right of the playfield. Directly below it, the
"Block Rise" icon may be tapped to move the blocks
up so that more of them are shown if you're a
particularly fast and skilled color-combo-creator.
»
By strategically placing blocks in the active play
area and watching the lowest level of rising
blocks before they become active on the playfield,
it's possible to create a 9-segment color match.
For the less ambitious, 6-segment color matches
may be made in the shape of a cross.
»
When playing the game, the left screen shows the
Time Elapsed, Hi-Score, Score, Rise Level, and
Level.
»
If you create a 4-segment, 5-segment, or
6-segment color match, the entire segment will
disappear instead of just the 3-segment minimum.
Sadly, there's no mechanism for creating color
segments on the fly - for example, if you shuffle
a three-part color match and then immediately move
another matching block on top, it won't trigger.
»
Your color matching doesn't have to stop when
completed color matches are being cleared from the
screen. As they're disappearing, you can continue
to shuffle blocks around to keep the matches
rolling along.
