Game Synopsis
«©NCS»
Leon Kennedy
sits in
the back seat of a vehicle as it speeds through a
forlorn looking road somewhere in Europe. In the
front seat, two local policemen banter a bit as they
motor towards their destination. Leon has been given
an assignment to locate the President's daughter who
has been kidnapped. Unsure of what awaits him, Leon
carries a gun as well as a communication device to
receive intel from a fellow agent named Ingrid
Hunnigan. Once Leon reaches the target village,
gamers will notice that the police aren't too
anxious to investigate with him. That should be the
first clue that something is amiss...
The Wii version of Biohazard 4 features nunchuk + Wii remote
control which makes for a new interactive experience.
Early in the game, Ingrid sends Leon a communiqué
which contains a few pages of Wii Remote controller
functionality to shoot, kick, and otherwise beat
back enemies in expeditious fashion. The first house
that Leon visits where the guy tending the fire
suddenly plays the role of maniacal killer will have you
aiming the Wii Remote feverishly to blast him
away. Occasional Wii Remote wagging is also required of
the player where the remote must be shaken from side
to side to break free of the grip of an enemy or to
run from a large boulder ala Indiana Jones in the
Raiders of the Lost Ark movie.

Game Notes
» The options on the title screen are:
NEW GAME / Play the game in NORMAL, EASY,
or AMATEUR difficulty level
LOAD / Resume a game from save data file
OPTIONS / Retry or Load, Controller setup,
Brightness Adjust, Audio Setup, Exit
EXTRAS / Bonus Video which chronicles the
Umbrella Corporation's shenanigans
» The movie in the EXTRAS section features English
text with Japanese subtitles. It's funky zombies
and agents stealthily scouting out areas with some
killing and an appearance by Wesker. Later in the
cinema, the bullets fly ferociously as agents kill
zombies with wild abandon.
» Biohazard 4 Wii requires the nunchuk to be
connected before being able to proceed into the
game. The thumbstick on the nunchuk is used to
move Leon around and the C button is used to
switch weapons. To run, press and hold Z on the
Nunchuk and then move Leon through the d-pad. On
the Wii Remote, the d-pad swivels the camera around,
the B button aims, and the A button fires the gun
once as long as the B button is pressed. Once
aimed, use the motion of the Wii Remote to aim the
cursor around the screen. There's a sense of
urgency when playing BH4 on the Wii since your aim
must be good to avoid getting smacked.
» To access inventory and use items, press the "-"
button on the Wii Remote. To bring up an area map,
press the "1" button to view the entire locality.
» The game starts off with English voice over and
English text on screen with Japanese subtitles on
the bottom of the screen. The voice over reads off
the dialogue shown as it explains the background
of the game and Umbrella's demise after the events
of the first Biohazard games. Six years later,
strange things are afoot once again when an agent
is riding in the back of a car with two local
policemen. He's looking for the President's
missing daughter. The dialogue between the foreign
cops and Leon is voiced by actors. They direct him
towards the village and tell him that they'll stay
in the car. Most if not all of the dialogue is
voiced by actors.
» The intro to the game recounts the Umbrella
corporation's shenanigans in the Arklay mountains
near Raccoon City. The sterilization of Raccoon
City and how the US government stopped the actions
of the Umbrella Corporation are also retold. Six
years later, Leon is on a trip as a sort of
bodyguard for the new president and his job is to
find his missing daughter named Ashley Graham.
While seated in the back seat of a car driven by
local police - they have a chat that's tinged with
a bit of rivalry. One of the agents takes a wizz
at the side of the road and he seems to notice
something about to approach him when he shakes it
off, enters the car, and they all drive away.»
The trio approaches a village and Leon goes on to
investigate by himself. The policia aren't too
willing to accompany him. Later, Ingrid Hunnigan
contacts Leon by video phone and tells him that
she'll be his contact. After that bit of
conversation, Leon is shown hefting a gun with
both hands and he walks into the outskirts of the
village. Leon enters a house and encounters a guy
tending a fireplace. The guy looks like Indio
(played by Gian Maria Volonte) from the Spaghetti
Western movies featuring Clint Eastwood. The guy
grabs an axe and is about to whack Leon so it's
time to aim and fire away. Three shots does him
in. Later when Leon leaves the house, three locals
armed with scythes and knives assault him but
they're also simple cannon fodder since they sort
of lumber around and aren't very smart. According
to Capcom, they are not zombies however. Whatever.
For most of the locals who attack with pitchforks
and assorted farm equipment, three shots will
usually put them down. Alternately, one bullet to
blow them back followed by a crushing roundhouse
kick also seems to work.
* In one of the shacks, there's a woman who's
been pitchforked through the head so that she
hangs from a wall. Leon's comment when he sees her
is, "Guess there's no sex discrimination here."
* When enemies are shot, they'll recoil and
dance like the bullets are really smashing into
their bodies. When Leon slashes with his knife,
the targets will also scream and grip their
wounded body parts. There are some gruesome
reactions when Leon slices, dices, and performs
his close range kick on the foes. The bodies will
bubble away on the ground once they've been put
down.
* Before Leon enters the main portion of the
village, he may take a look at what the villagers
are doing. They've caught one of the policemen
from earlier and have impaled him above a
bristling bonfire. The bottom of his pants and his
shoes are ablaze while lumbering villagers walk
around carting stuff, pitchforking, lumbering. The
battle that ensues is fairly horrific even by our
jaded standards.
» A total of 20 save slots are available to record
your progress. When saved, the header information
consists of Chapter, Saves, Time, Round, Mode. All
menus are in English and the game is import
friendly.
» Leon can save a wolf from a bear trap by opening
up the trap's maw. If Leon steps into a hidden
trap a few steps down the road, he'll walk with a
limp afterwards if his HP gauge is down to 3 bars.
» After killing a few "zombies," Hunnigan appears
on the communication link and sends a playing
manual over to Leon which contains four pages.
Learn how to reload by moving the Wii Remote up and
down while holding down the B button, how to kick
attack, and changing weapons by pressing the C
button on the nunchuk.
» The Wii Remote is waddled back and forth sideways
to get out of enemy death grips. When you exit the
town, some locals will push a big boulder down on
Leon so he'll have to vamoose ala Indiana Jones.
To run from it, wag the Wii Remote from side to side
vigorously and then press A+B to duck to the side
and escape its deadly trajectory. Later on, when a
villager cleaves downwards with a massive axe, wag
the Wii Remote again so that you and your new
friend's bonds are severed by the killing stroke.
