NCS Game Synopsis

Naruto and crew return for a fifth Saikyo Ninja
Daikesshu where the ninja engage in missions and
techniques are activated by tapping or swirling the
stylus on the touch screen. The new game features 10 chapters
filled with enemies, obstacles, and powerful
end-level Akatsuki bosses. The cast consists of 17
characters including Naruto, Gaara, Kakashi, and
many more. True to form, Naruto and crew are
capable of wall running, double jumping, and
triggering special chakra powered techniques. New
modes of carriage include riding on summoned beasts to reach
otherwise unreachable areas. Up to four
players may compete at once in the Wi-Fi online
mode.

NCS Game Notes
»
Naruto Saikyo Ninja Daikesshu is a side scrolling
platform game where players select a character and
two partners. The two partners provide special
attacks and technique support during the game but
are not controlled directly by the player. At the
outset, Naruto is the only playable character.
Support characters that may be selected are
Sakura, Rock Lee, Hyuuga, and TenTen. An
additional 7 supporting characters may be
unlocked.

The top NDS screen shows all of the action while
the touch screen displays a map of the level and
portraits of the two supporting characters. To
trigger a special attack, simply tap on either of
their portraits and a special event will occur
that'll help Naruto out of a jam or predicament.
The top of the touch screen also shows the chakra
level - as long as the first one is lit, the hero
can perform a special skill or jutsu. For example,
Naruto's teleport technique is only available if
the chakra icon is lit.

When Naruto leaps down from a high platform and
plummets to the ground, he'll land with an
earthshaking thud and is immobilized for three
seconds.

The controls are as follows:
X-Button / Throw special weapon
Y-Button / Attack. Press in sequence
A-Button / Jump. Press again in midair for a
double-jump
B-Button / When walking or wall-walking, press to
speed up
L-Trigger / Special technique - For Naruto, it's a
teleport move
»
There's a point in the first level where Naruto
walks on water. At the end of the level, he'll
face off against Kakashi who does an attack then
dash routine. He'll run in, attack and then run
away. When he's not running, Kakashi throws
ground-level stars which are easily avoided by
jumping.

The second level is more of the same except
there's a 1-UP that you can find in the
subterranean areas of the stage. The end-level
opponent is Maito Gai. A cheap way to beat him is
by knocking him down once and then double-jumping
in front of him as he recovers. Just when he
solidifies, attack him as you're about to land
from your double jump and he'll get knocked down
again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

After completing the first two stages, you'll be
able to choose Naruto, Sakura, Rock Lee, Hyuuga,
or Kakashi as your main character. One new
supporting character that becomes available is
Maito Gai.
