PS3 Megazone 23 Blue Garland - New Import, In Stock

«©NCS» Fans of the animation series Megazone 23 seeking closure won't find it in the new PS3 adventure. Shogo Yahagi from the original series is gone and replaced by a new hero named Hiroto Takanaka who's the son of Yui. Returning characters include the aforementioned Yui Takanaka, Eve Tokimatsuri, and B.D. Yui sports a pair of red eyes in the PS3 game and is back in her green hair which was seen in Megazone 23 Part 1. In Part 2 of the animation, she was brunette with hazel eyes. Eve looks like a stewardess in a tan/brown uniform and B.D. is an older version of his incarnation from Megazone 23 Part 2. Some new supporting cast members featured in the game include Mira Arai, Ayaka C, and Mami N.

The game takes players to an alternate reality version of Megazone 23 Part I which is set 20 years after the conclusion of the first animated series. Yui Takanaka has a son named Hiroto who's the spitting image of mama. Sort of. One day, Hiroto's mother is shot by mysterious men and seriously wounded in an incident connected to her work. Yui gives Hiroto a key which opens a secret garage underneath their house. Inside, Hiroto finds a special mecha-motorbike known as the Blue Garland. However, upon finding the Blue Garland, Hiroto finds himself being pursued by aggressive attackers and his adventure begins...

The bulk of the game is made up of interactive scenarios but there's a point and click traveling sequence dubbed Cockpit and a battle mode where fighting actions are selected from a menu. Once an action is chosen, the Garland throws out a slash attack or fires off a round of artillery. It's all very last-generation but be advised that games such as Megazone 23 Blue Garland still do decent numbers in Japan even if they're loathed everywhere else.
