NCS Game Synopsis
«©NCS»
When the battlefields of Warring States beckoned in
the past, players usually grabbed a Dual Shock 2 and
thumbed their way through the hordes of enemy
soldiers. The Wii brings a new dimension to the
sword swinging action of the Sengoku Musou franchise
by arming players with a Wii Remote weapon that's
slashed through the air. The nunchuk is used for
movement and running so you'll need both hands to
play.
When the game first boots up, you'll be asked to select one of your
Mii characters which will create a save-data file
which stores your player data, mini-game performance
data, and general game records. Upon starting the
Scenario Mode of the game, players receive their
orders from Oda Nobunaga himself and head into
battle where the action is viewed from a first
person perspective. The Scenario Mode features four
chapters and each chapter is comprised of five
battles. As enemy soldiers motor in your direction,
confront them and swing the Wii Remote like a mad man
(standing in his living room) to strike them down
with a few strokes. Swords are the natural choice
for cutting wide swaths through enemy hordes but
muskets and bows may also be equipped for projectile
attacks. A Challenge Mode (missions) and Competition
Mode (mini-games) are also playable.

NCS Game Notes
» After the game boots up, you'll be prompted
to select one of four save slots and then choose a
Mii from your stored roster. An auto-save will
occur and the game introduction plays where dark
billowing clouds roil above. An arm grabs a
crystal which reflects the clouds behind it and
the scene shifts to the battlegrounds of the
Warring States. The crystal is a representation of
the Wii Remote which is all you need to hack and
slash like a Warring States general. The intro
commences with scenes of battle where legions of
armies are smacked down.
» At the outset, only two BGM samples under
the OPTION menu are available but the other music
selections may be unlocked by playing the game.
» The Game Previews section on the disc
features a horse racing game called GI
Jockey followed by a preview of
Oppoona which is an action-adventure
featuring a space boy who's launched from his
family's ship and has to make do on a new world.
» Start a NEW GAME and a female voice-over
accompanies the prologue which sets up the Warring
States storyline with images of Nobunaga, his
right hand man Maeda Toshihisa, and key events.
» Before going into battle, you can shop for
weapons and supplies, select which weapons to use,
upgrade weapons, check hero stats, and view the
general state of your army. Weapon choices include
the default katana, a spear, hammer, musket, and
cannon. In later levels, more powerful versions of
the eight weapons used in the game may be purchased
to enhance your battlefield performance. Since you
have two hands, you're allowed to carry two weapons
into battle - a melee weapon and a projectile weapon
which are activated by respectively pressing the "A"
or "B" button on the Wii Remote.
» Pink and blue reticules will appear on opposing
soldiers when they're in range so that you can
perform a melee or projectile attack to hit them.
Close-range enemies will have pink spotting
reticules on them to indicate that they can be hit
while enemies in the background are spotted with
blue reticules which show that they're within
targeting range of your projectile weapon.
» To perform a thrusting forward attack, jut the
Wii Remote in front of you to poke at enemies and
knock them down. Oncoming projectiles such as
rocks that are thrown in your direction may be
blocked and slashed away with a sword stroke.
» When groups of enemy soldiers rush up to the
screen in a menacing manner, swish the Wii Remote in
a horizontal or diagonal arc to attack all of them as if they
were the Three (dozen) Stooges.
