 ©NCS» Released in Japan earlier this year, Dream Chick is a lifelike motorized baby chicken that cries and flaps its little whirring wings like an actual chick. Since it's only a baby, the wings flap very slightly although the motor is quite audible. Each Dream Chick is packaged in a plastic egg where it sits on a little paper nest. The chick is tethered to a base to keep it secure during shipping so care must be taken to remove the chick since it's tied down very well.

   To make Dream Chick move and chirp, human contact is required. Touch it or pat it and it'll move its little wings and chirp from time to time. If you leave it alone, it'll chirp once in a while but contact is the key.

   Sega originally shipped them to the Japanese marketplace on March 15, 2007 but Japanese distributors have started another sales campaign for the chicks. Maybe they think the upcoming holiday season will stoke demand. Preorders and new orders will ship today. We will honor the original preorder price of US$19 but please note that new orders will be priced at US$25 due to the shipping charges and the continuing weakness of the dollar against pretty much every foreign currency. The chicks ship in a large cardboard box that only holds six of them per carton which incurred the higher than expected shipping costs.
