NCS Game Synopsis
 ©NCS» Namco's Famista baseball game series has been around since 1989 and is the longest running baseball franchise in Japan. It bests Konami's Powerful Pro series by six years and looks like it'll be around for a while.  The ball players in previous Famista games had a distinctive pudgy and rounded appearance and they return to the NDS with the same overall body shape and stance.

   All twelve professional baseball teams from the Central and Pacific League are featured in the latest Famista along with stadiums and updated 2007 stats. In addition to the Exhibition and Season modes, players may also build an original team in the Dream League Mode. By using the wireless communication mode, players may link up online for contests of pitching and batting action.

NCS Game Notes
» The presentation of Famista DS hearkens back to the heyday of Famista... namely the 8-bit Famicom age in terms of visual presentation and sound effects. The controls are very good which allow for ease of hitting and pitching.

» The baseball action takes place on the top screen while the touch screen shows baseball cards of the pitcher and batter as they face off. When batting, the "A" button swings and the "X" button bunts. Once you have a man on base, you can try stealing by pressing the "L" trigger.

» After a homerun is hit, fireworks pop in the sky and a plane flies across the top of the stadium. A bead of sweat may be seen pouring from the heads of players from time to time.

» The default length of each ballgame is 3-innings but 6-innings and 9-innings may be toggled at the outset of each game along with other modifiers.
