Game Notes
»
A lad bellows out the name of the game when the
title screen appears followed by the theme song.
»
Start a new game and you'll choose BLUE or RED
(Berserk or Dinosaur) incarnation followed by the name entry screen.
You'll be able to enter your name in Katakana,
Hiragana, English (all caps), and English
(lowercase) across eight spaces.
»
It is the year 220X and the hero of the game
named Subaru appears in black space and meets up
with an alien creature named War-Rock. They merge to
become Rockman and a Radio Wave being capable of
entering the Radio Wave World. After a short
introduction, Subaru appears on the touch screen
while a floating aircraft is shown on the top
screen. The side of the aircraft reads, "Ghost
Crisis" and depicts a spook emerging from behind the
letters on the right. He slaps on his visualizer
shades and engages War-Rock in conversation. Subaru
has received a package which contains a new type of
transer known as a Star Carrier. He takes
possession, pumps his fist and a naming sequence
appears with enough space for a 10-letter name.
»
Afterwards, control is handed over to the player
where the D-pad moves Subaru around the world. Head
towards the right, past the Bio Wave building and
speak to the girl that's standing there. Her profile
appears on the top screen while the conversation
takes place. She gives Subaru some information and
he returns to where he was standing before. A short
while later, the Ghost Crisis aircraft overhead
starts sparkling with electric discharges and starts
shuffling around in the sky with herky-jerky
motions. It then drops straight down right where
Subaru is standing. Unlike a deer caught in the
headlights, Subaru scoots to the south and avoids
calamity.
»
Normal citizens gather around the airship and
control is handed over to the player once again.
Converse with the three people standing around and
then approach the ship. It'll start sparking again
and everyone except Subaru vamooses for fear of
death by explosion. After a few more rumbles, Subaru
backs away and flips down his visor to see that
three ghost images of munchkins are arrayed in front
of the airship. Head on over to the vortex on the
left side of the screen and press the "R-Trigger" to
become Rockman.
»
Head back over to the crashed airship and engage
the helmeted munchkins in battle. Instead of a
side-viewed fighting sequence, the battlefield looks
like a three-lane bowling alley of sorts with the
enemies viewed in the distance. Attack icons and
actions are shown on the touch screen which may be
tapped to trigger blaster shots and special attacks.
Move left and right with the D-pad and fire shots by
pressing the "B" button or perform a sword slash by
pressing the "A" button. Enemies will return fire
which flash towards Subaru on the lanes but they're
fairly easy to avoid. To bring up the action menu,
press the "L-Trigger" to change up attacks.
»
After defeating the three sets of enemies, head
on back to the vortex to change back into Subaru
once again and the normal world...
