NCS Game Synopsis
«©NCSX» The kids are back this winter in a new island-bound adventure where survival skills and virtual endurance are put to the test. The subtitle of the game translates to an approximation of, "Big Secret on a Small Island" but we could tell you that it's "The Lost Tribe of Salisbury Steak" and 80% of you wouldn't be the wiser. Upon washing ashore, the hero meets up with a heroine and the two team up to help each other survive.

The game features four characters and the ultimate goal is to use wits and puzzle solving skills to survive the tribulations of hunger and thirst while searching for a way off the desert island and back to civilization. New to the game is an animal communication system where beasts such as dolphins may be interacted with.

NCS Game Notes
» A fistfight aboard a ship sends the male protagonist of the latest Survival Kids into the ocean. He washes ashore and begins a new survival adventure on a harsh desert island.

» At the outset, you can choose to play as a brown-haired boy or a blonde girl.

» The game starts with a camera that's headed towards an island followed by a monkey on a rock, birds flying, and other animals. The hero washes up ashore and may be seen lying prone on the ground. He wakes up and drags himself to his feet. A memory sequence plays which shows the events aboard the ship he was on prior to his beach landing. He was in a fight and got knocked overboard.

» The top NDS screen shows an image of the hero and stats for life, hunger, and thirts. A blazing sun may be seen shining on the top of the screen. The touch screen shows the hero and his travels. The sound of waves crashing ashore may be heard in the background.

» Movement is handled through the D-pad or by tapping on the touchscreen. Walk around and collect some dropped coconuts. If you walk along the water, a sequence will play where the hero bumps into a blonde girl standing on the beach and looking at the sunset while a dolphin jumps in the water. A flashback plays which shows that she was on the same ship that the protagonist was. After a short introduction, she joins you and shadows you wherever your walk. Walk west and then north and you'll eventually reach a cave where the two set up a little home away from home.

» The first task is to create a fire so while she relaxes, go out and find some firewood. Once the wood is in hand, hold it between both virtual hands and press the L and R triggers alternately to create friction upon kindling to create a flame.

» Trees may be shaken to loosen the fruit above so that they drop and become easy pickings.

» To view an overhead map of the area, tap the R-Trigger.
