Game Synopsis
«©NCSX»
A new
"Harvest" adventure awaits in the town of Alvana
where a lad named Kairu walks in and is immediately
given a farm, a watering can, and a garden hoe.
Kairu's job is raising crops in addition to going on
adventures of exploration and battle. Then there's
the eventual marriage to the right gal to continue
the lineage.
At the outset of the game, a large field to the right of Kairu's
new homestead is cluttered with plants, pine cones, tree
stumps, and rocks. Clear away the objects, eat the
plants, or store the useful items in two receptacles
at home. The town of Alvana features a number of
shops and a large cast of characters who provide
advice as well as support to help Kairu on his way.
The amount of voice dialogue in the game is fairly
extensive but not all conversations are spoken. To
the south of the town is a wharf where a boat is
tethered. By jumping onto the boat, it's possible to
sail to an adjacent island for extra exploration and
adventure.
Monsters in the surrounding areas of Alvana will attack with
weapons and arrows when Kairu invades their space.
To counter them, Kairu can use his garden hoe to
attack the enemy monsters but other weapons may be
purchased or fashioned as the game progresses.
Bonus Schwag
All orders will ship with a bonus 30-page booklet which
contains character artwork, full page illustrations,
and a page of notable locales in the game. Glued to
the last page of the booklet is a Rune Factory 2
Drama CD which contains 8 tracks of listening
pleasure.

Game Notes
» The intro features a full blown song with
vocals along with cinematic sequences.
» Soon after entering the town of Alvana, Kairu is
greeted by a girl named Mana. Soon after their
meeting, the earth shakes and they're joined by a
strapping lumberjack-like figure named Dagurasu
(Douglas) who barges in on the conversation.
Douglas' prodigious mustache has more hair than the
top of his head. Later, Mana takes Kairu to his farm
and outfits him with a watering can and a hoe. Mana
wants to also give Kairu 100G to start him off but
Douglas interjects and reduces the amount to a
measly 50G. Both Douglas and Mana work in the
"Parts" shop in town.
» The top NDS screen shows a map of the town and the
bottom screen shows the hero's actions and
explorations.
» To save your progress, go home and stand in front
of the blue book on the first or second floor.
» When it's time to retire for the day, walk up to
your bed and press the "A" button once the red
indicator appears and press "A" again on the first
selection that appears. Kairu will yawn and the
screen dims. The day starts every morning at 6:00AM.
» Most shops in town open for business at 9:00AM and
close at 6:00PM. When inside a shop, the passage of
time stops and won't resume until you exit the
premises. There's one shop that doesn't open until
3:00PM but it closes at midnight. The street lights
flicker on at 4:00PM as the sun begins to set and
casts a golden hue over Avana.
» To eat an herb or plant directly while standing on
a field, pick it up by pressing the "A" button and
then eat by pressing the "B" button. Kairu will be
shown munching on the morsel and his HP will go up a
bit. If you wish to store the item you've
picked up on the field, press "A" to lift it up and
then press "Y" to shove it into inventory.
» Plant material may be stored in your
refrigerator at home while rocks and wood can be
stored in a bin to the left of the fridge.
» Every swing of the hoe uses up RP energy as
indicated by the bar located on the top of the
screen beneath the HP bar. When depleted, it would
be a good idea to go home and settle down for the
night.
» To toggle walk or run mode, press the "R-Trigger"
on the NDS.
