NCS Game Synopsis
«©NCSX» The original Naruto Shinobi Retsuden for the NDS was released in December 2006 and the game was based on the Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen games from the Gamecube. The sequel features a cast of 32 characters from Naruto Shippuuden who bout it out in a 3D fighting game that runs at a fluid 60fps.

    Players may choose to play as the title hero himself, Naruto who's an all-around well balanced combatant or take control of a specialized fighter such as Gaara who's a master of the desert sands. The fisticuffs take place on the top NDS screen whilst the touch screen features a control panel where special items and Rasengan skills may be triggered with a quick stylus tap. A Wi-Fi function gives two players the chance to duke it out.

NCS Game Notes
» At the outset of the game, the character selection screen only shows each character's eyes on the touch screen while the top screen shows the character from the thighs and higher.

» The game features a total of 15 stages that may be fought upon.

» The controls are:

Y - Attack
B - Attack
X - Jump

» Pressing either Trigger button and moving the d-pad left or right will teleport a character behind his/her opponent. To block, simply hold down on either trigger button.

» The graphics are cel-shaded for a clean and distinctive look. The controls are responsive and the action runs fast and fairly furious.

» The game engine keeps track of hit combos.

» When fighting, the combatants will groan, make fighting noises, and screech audibly above the background music.

» Special attacks are shown in a short cinematic sequence that cuts into the fighting action and displays mighty powers at work.
