Game Synopsis
«©NCSX»
Love is in the air but instead of male to female
attraction, Aoishiro is all about the
relationships between women and the love that
sprouts between them. In Japan, the social phenomenon is
known as Yuri which has been featured in
light novels, manga, and animation.
At the outset of the game, players take on the persona of a young
woman who interacts with other members of the same
sex. By choosing certain actions during the course
of the adventure, characters will converse, bond, seek solace
within each other, and fall in love. Note that
Aoishiro is a digital novel so that your
participation is mainly relegated to reading and
viewing still images as the storyline unfurls. Every
once in a while, you'll be presented with a
selection of options that'll affect the storyline
and change the outcome of the game. Publisher
Success touts the use of 200 computer-generated
images to enhance the story and 30 possible endings
which are the result of your choices at different
junctures.
The limited edition of Aoishiro
includes a bonus paperback novella that's bundled
inside the game package and a soundtrack
CD that's shipped loose and outside of the limited
edition slipcase.

Game Notes
» At the outset of the game, the female narrator
recounts events from medieval Japan when demons were
afoot and scaring up the countryside. Strife and
toil ruined the lives of those caught up in the
ravages of the demons, war, and other harshness. As
the introduction continues, the camera will roam
around and zoom in on a couple of paintings that
depict the encounter between a mighty demon and
Japanese soldiers. Eventually, a priestess is able
to subdue to creature and send it sinking into the
roiling sea. From there, the soldiers are able to
rout the demons and banish them from the land. That
was then...
» The new day is bright and cheery. As the game
opens up, the sun blazes a golden hue across the sky
and illuminates everything with a healthy burnished
glow. A group of women dressed in blue and white
uniforms with orange ties are aboard a bus. A couple
of them are chatting and enjoying each other's
company. Their dialogue is accompanied by snippets
of voice acting and sedate background music. A tour
guide interrupts from time to time and at the end of
the ride, announces that they've reached their
destination.
» A cinematic introduction plays which features
water, surf, a big moon, dark pathways, and the
portraits of the main characters in the game. The
song that plays during the introduction is titled "Yami no Kanata ni"
and sung by Rita & Haruka Shimotsuki.
» In the next scene, the girls are at a spot near
the ocean. The setting sun casts a bronze glow over
the landscape which we suspect is romantic. One by
one, different girls enter the screen and introduce
themselves over the course of the game. In the
background, lilting music and the sound of the waves
softly hitting the shore may be heard.
» During the game, the zooming camera technique seen
in the introductory sequence is utilized to focus in
on portions of an image to accentuate the character
and what she has to say.
» To skip the introduction and other game sequences,
press the R-2 Trigger followed by the "O" button to
go forward to the next chapter.
» To toggle the "auto" forward function, press the
L2-Trigger followed by the "O" button.
» To review the text history of the storyline, press
the L1-Trigger to peruse the game script.
» To save the game at any time, press the "SQUARE"
button and press the "O" button on the first menu
selection that appears. You will be able to choose a
save slot from nine available positions.
