Game Synopsis
«©NCSX»
In the Spring of 2006, Aquaplus released
Nanatsuiro Drops for the Japanese PC and
found a willing and receptive audience. Since then,
the game has made the round trip to novellas, manga,
animation, and back to video game conversions on the
PS2 and now, the Nintendo DS. The adult content from
the PC original has been wiped out but the main
characters, storyline, and themes remain.
Nanatsuiro Drops follows the story of a glasses-wearing lad named
Masaharu Tsuwabuki who's a withdrawn and congenial
middle school student. Through a conspiracy of
events, Masaharu is transformed into a plush toy
that looks like a ram. The NDS adventure follows the
events of the animated series and features five
mini-games as follows: Gardening (watering plants,
whacking moles, and weeding), Counting animals as
they fall from the top screen to the touch screen,
Math problems administered by
Natsume
Kisaragi, Falling Star rhythm action, and a Fishing
Trip where Masaharu and Sumomo cooperate to catch
brown-colored fish.

Animation Synopsis
»
One day while thinking about his anti-social self,
Masaharu bumps into a girl named Sumomo Akihime who
drops a crimson watering can and splashes water all
over him. After the initial shock and a bout of
Sumomo's weeping, the impromptu meeting is broken up
by a girl named Nako Yaeno who threatens Masaharu
with a pointy weapon. A teacher named
Natsume
Kisaragi intervenes and the
misunderstanding is soon cleared up with Masaharu
being forced into the school's gardening club which
currently only has two members - Sumomo and Nako.
Natsume
Kisaragi's gift to Masaharu for joining is a can of
soft drink.
Masaharu's first job is to put together the club's
sprinkler system so that the plants can get some
liquid goodness. After his work, Masaharu cleans up
and walks outside when a green-haired clown named
Arthur who's carrying an armload of soft drink cans
crashes into Masaharu. Masaharu notices his cat ears
but Arthur brushes the comment away with
proclamations of cosplay. Arthur gathers up the cans
of fallen soda and hands one back to Masaharu. The
wrong one. Masaharu drinks from the can and as the
sun begins to set, he finds himself transformed.
In
the next scene, Sumomo picks him up. Masaharu has
been changed from student to baby ram plush toy. As
the plot thickens, we learn that in order to
transform back into a human boy, his chosen girl (in
this case, Sumomo) must collect Seven Star Drops
with the help of a ring which emits a laser-like
beam of red light. For their first Star Drop, Sumomo
and the newly named ram doll she calls Yuki-chan
follow it to a once-defunct fountain near her
school. The Star Drop apparently is attracted to
water. After some difficulty, the drop is bottled
inside a container where it changes into red liquid.
From there, the newly formed duo endeavor to capture
six more Star Drops.
