NCS Game Synopsis
«©NCSX» The original Valhalla Knights from 2006 was a decent game but it was unoriginal and followed tried and true design conventions to a tee. The sequel isn't radically different from the first game but MMV taps Miwa Shouda (previous work: FFXII, Legend of Mana) to write the scenarios featured in VK2 and adds a bounty of character customization options. 

   At the outset of the game, players choose a race from the usual archetypes such as Human, Hobbit, or Dwarf as well as the sex of the protagonist. NCS doesn't want to demean the Dwarves but the women look like sumo. Male sumo. Character features may be edited from a large number of options so that a unique hero/heroine may be crafted. 

   Valhalla Knights 2 is a 3D adventure game. The protagonist is maneuvered through the world which rotates and winds around in accommodating fashion. Battles against creatures are somewhat reminiscent of Monster Hunter Portable where your hero runs around a beast and strikes at opportune moments. Unlike Monster Hunter however, once a creature is vanquished, its body disappears entirely. That means there'll be no mutton chops to carve from the carcass.

Bonus Schwag
   Some early preorders will include a bonus Sound of Valhalla Knights soundtrack which contains 23 tracks of melodic orchestrated BGM from the game.

Marvelous Entertainment and XSEED Games Announce Co-Publishing Agreement
Strategic Partnership Further Establishes Marvelous Entertainment Publishing Presence as Companies Join Forces to Bring to Market Popular Japanese Video Games

Torrance, Calif., (May 9, 2008) -- Japan-based game publisher Marvelous Entertainment Inc. and Los Angeles-based game company XSEED Games announced today their entering into a strategic co-publishing partnership. The deal will help to establish a US publishing presence for Marvelous Entertainment and will provide XSEED Games an opportunity to access and bring to market titles from Marvelous’ portfolio of high quality, popular games. Under the agreement, XSEED Games will support key Marvelous Entertainment titles for publishing and distribution in North America, with the first title to be announced under this partnership, Valhalla Knights 2 for the PlayStation® Portable (PSP), scheduled to launch in fall 2008.

Sequel to the popular Valhalla Knights, Valhalla Knights 2 promises to give fans of the original game a vast and expansive world to explore, and the customization tools to create the ultimate battle party. This action RPG (Role Playing Game) sequel adds new races, job classes, weapons, magic spells, foes, armor and more to the Valhalla Knights universe, within an engrossing story arc. Controlling and choosing character aspects such as skills, race, and appearance, players can engage in real-time 6 on 6 battles, reliant on tactical combat strategies to achieve success. Supporting 2 player ad hoc network play, gamers can engage in Co-op and Versus modes with friends, or simply trade items and weapons.
