NDS Rhythm Tengoku Gold JPN

Preorder Import: US$38.90/ea

NDS Rhythm Tengoku Gold - Import Preorder
«©NCSX» The original Rhythm (Heaven) Tengoku game for the Gameboy Advance sold over 300,000 copies. We recall having to restock the game many times until there was no more to be had from Japan. Fast forward two years and Nintendo starts preorders for a sequel which features more simple rhythm games.
Based on the content in the original Rhythm Tengoku, the mini-games are simple in scope but challenging in practice. To register hits, the button tapping had to be very precise. Any lag was generally registered as a miss as aptly demonstrated in the introductory beat meter exercise.

Rhythm Tengoku Gold (NDS リズム天国ゴールド) features another bunch of mini-games but this time, they require precise touch-pen tapping in tune with the onscreen cues. One game features an onscreen eater who chomps on a pie with your tapping help and another game features vegetable picking. Music producer Tsunku returns to oversee the music and rhythm action. NCS will post a full synopsis and game notes once we get to play the RTG... just because we're fans of the original. Preorders are welcome to ship on July 31, 2008 at US$38.90 from NCS.

TOY Fantasm Soldier Valis JPN

Preorder Import: US$25.00/set

TOY Fantasm Soldier Valis Vol. 1 Gashapon - Import Preorder
«©NCSX» Yuko Asao and Reiko Kirishima were friends and then enemies in the original Mugen Senshi Valis (Valis: The Fantasm Soldier) game on the Mega-Drive. That was all the way back in December 1991 when platform titles were all the rage. It's been a while since Valis saw any new action but Yujin has announced a set of capsule toys based on the two girls of the first Valis game. The figures are:

» Yuko Asao - full-figured warrior with sword and removable clothing
» Reiko Kirishima in her "evil" persona with skimpy outfit and weapon
» Yuko Asao bust figure where the Vecanti warrior arches upwards
» Reiko Kirishima matching bust figure

Pricing is set at JPY500 per gashapon from Yujin but we're going to bundle the figures into complete sets of four and supply them that way. Preorders are welcome today at US$25.00 per set and NCS expects delivery in early to mid September 2008.

MISC Star Wars R2-R9 Basket JPN

Preorder Import: US$215.00/ea

MISC Star Wars R2-R9 Wastebasket - Import Preorder
«©NCSX» Last year, Japanese manufacturer Heart released an R2-D2 Wastebasket that sold well despite the high cost of procurement. Heart is at it again next month with a Japan-exclusive Star Wars R2-R9 Wastebasket where the red and silver droid accepts refuse.

To pop R2-R9's top, step on the foot-lever at the base of the robot just like any conventional wastebasket equipped with a foot powered mechanism. When the dome flips open, simply dump your garbage into the receptacle inside and remove your foot from the lever. It's that easy.

Heart will only produce a total of 400 R2-R9 Wastebaskets for the market but we have a suspicion that they won't sell as well as the R2-D2 model. Trash-Can-R2-R9 measures 60cm or 23.62" tall which is about a foot shorter than the actual droids used in the Star Wars movies.

Pricing is set at JPY17000 but the shipping costs from overseas are expected to be onerous. The fuel surcharge for UPS international shipping is currently 25.00%. Sad but true. Preorders are welcome today.

TRC Rina Koike Card Collection JPN

Preorder Import: US$60.90/box

TRC Rina Koike Official Card Collection - Import Preorder
«©NCSX» Idols are a dime a dozen in Japan. After two or three years of semi-stardom to actual stardom, most idols are shoved aside to make way for the next generation of idols. NCS likens the process to an assembly line where idols are groomed and manufactured to appeal to the populace for a short time before a new model makes it into production. The quick turnaround keeps the idol industry fresh, new, and perhaps creates a sense of anticipation for new blood.

Rina Koike is a junior Japanese idol. Sort of like Hanna Montana. She's 14 years old and has starred in the live action Sailor Moon serial and is currently a cast member in the new Kamen Rider Kiva. Idols generally appear in photo books and other products that show their image. Since Rina is a bona-fide idol, she gets to appear in a set of trading cards where she dresses up in various costumes and outfits that accentuate her youth and innocence. A total of 72 standard cards are included in the set but limited edition autograph cards, stamp cards, and even a student photo card are randomly packaged in each factory case. Preorders are welcome to ship in late July 2008 at US$60.90 per factory box of 96 cards.

Our Planet

 NEWS ThePlanet Downtime
«©NCSX» Our shop at www.ncsxshop.com was affected by the outage at ThePlanet's Houston data center which started on Saturday evening. Sadly, the downtime cost us a bunch of sales. Orders were flowing in at a nice clip on Saturday (we inexplicably sold a bunch of Lime-Green Poring plushes) and then everything stopped. Sort of like when a faucet sputters its last dying spurt and turns off.
The shop is expected to be brought back online later this evening based on the updates from ThePlanet. NCS apologizes for the inconvenience caused to our customers. If you sent an email to support@ncsxshop.com over the weekend, please note the it hasn't arrived yet but we'll receive your message once our server returns. Emails may also be sent to ncsx@msn.com. Our preorder/backup shop at www.shopncsx.com was not affected by the outage and
is fully operational.

TIME GA-KO Alarm Clock JPN

Preorder Import: US$36.90/ea

 ETC Search Engine Observation
«©NCSX» Just an observation regarding the "duck clock" and Google's efficacy... since we have time to spare with the main shop down.
Last Friday at about 12:00PM EST, we threw up a product description and preorder for the GA-KO Alarm Clock. About an hour later, Google had already indexed the page. By Friday evening, typing in the search term of "GA-KO Alarm Clock" in Google brought up our preorder shop's product listing as the first search result. As of this morning it's third under IGN.

Searching Yahoo for the same search terms on Friday evening brought up our original posting from this website (www.ncsx.com) for the first result.  However, querying Microsoft's Live search engine for the GA-KO Alarm Clock only brought up a brief mention from our www.ncsxshop.com site that we made on Friday. It was only on Sunday afternoon that Live picked up the blog post we made on Wordpress and positioned it first in the search results.

DC Super Runabout S.F. JPN

Clearance: US$15.90/each

SOTD Super Runabout S.F. Edition - Clearance
«©NCSX» When hurtling through the streets of San Francisco, you might be forgiven for losing control from time to time as you zoom to accomplish missions of varying import. Maybe it's the adrenalin pumping through your veins when your vehicle careens through a busy street filled with pedestrians.
Upon starting Super Runabout S.F., you're asked to join The San Francisco Motors or The San Francisco Police Department. The former puts you in the position of delivering packages and locating bombs for defusing. Joining the latter lets you roll under the auspices of civic duty. As a SFM employee, you'll pick up explosives from around the city and shuttle them to the bomb center. Other missions seem a little left of center, such as the hot dog task, where you scour the city in search of ingredients to assemble a righteous hot dog. A wide range of vehicles serve as your mission carriage including a light-weight Vespa, sports car, pick-up truck, Formula One racer, and even a commuter bus. More vehicles may be unlocked as you accomplish your appointed tasks and progress further into the game. The diversity of missions and vehicles may provide sufficient fodder for mission-based racing game fans.

Sale Offering: NCS' inventory of Super Runabout S.F.
is new, factory sealed, and in mint condition. Pricing is set at US$15.90 per copy which includes free shipping by USPS Media Mail within the U.S. Larger Photos
