«©NCSX» A junior high school student named Tsunayoshi Sawada and a pipsqueak who answers to the call of "Reborn" are unlikely gangland heroes but they exist in our hearts nonetheless. Tsuna and Reborn battle other gangsters and assassins in Takara's latest Hitman Reborn release which is based on events that took place in the "Future" story arc of the Hitman Reborn serial. The character roster reaches a total of 37 fighters and the fighting action takes place on 2D stages where combatants jump, punch, use special attacks, and launch projectiles with wild abandon.
   Solo players can enjoy the game by their lonesome but up to four Nintendo DS hitmen can link up wirelessly to bout it out in a 4-man fighting tournament. All orders for the game will ship with a bonus NDS Lite decal that shows two images depending on the angle that you view it from.

PS3 Siren: New Translation JPN

«©NCSX» NCS didn't think the original Siren game needed an encore but Sony disagrees. They've revamped the game for the Playstation 3 with highly polished visuals, Dual Shock 3 support, and the same scary storyline that shook PS2 gamers when Siren first shipped in 2003. Players take a trip to a forlorn village named Hanuda which has been afflicted by red water that turns the living into grotesque and murderous creatures known as "Shibito." Although Siren may be classified as a survival game in a horror setting, the burden of survival doesn't rest on a single protagonist. A whole cast of characters serve to move the narrative along and engage the Shibito in loathsome activities. Siren is relatively import friendly - the voice acting is in English and the archives from the film crew are also marked with English text. Note however that the subtitles are in Japanese.
   Early preorders will include a bonus "Original Siren CD" in 30% ratio. We'll give the bonus out accordingly today.
 

 

 

PSP Guilty Gear XX Accent JPN

«©NCSX» Arc System released Guilty Gear XX Accent Core for the PS2 in May 2007 but it was flawed. An undetected glitch made it to the production copies of the game which were subsequently released to retail. Arc apologized for the flaw but didn't remedy it until a year later with an append disc which fixed the game and added new content to make it a worthwhile purchase for fans.

   Accent Core Plus added two characters to the original roster - Kliff Undersn and Justice with their own unique storylines in the new Story Mode. Every character in the game is featured in a unique story which is enhanced with voice acting and multiple scenarios. An updated Mission Mode features targeted objectives to meet in each match and the Gallery features one new cinema in addition to the illustrations and other content culled from the game.

   In order to double-dip on the relatively recent release of Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus, Arc System ships a PSP conversion which includes the append disc upgrades (two new characters, Story Mode, and Mission Mode) found in the PS2 original. New features in the PSP conversion include a 4-player ad hoc mode and a new Team vs CPU mode.
   The PSP conversion of GGAC+ was originally scheduled to ship next week but vendors in Japan released it early so we're shipping all preorders and new orders today. Breaking street is an international phenomenon.

Wii Wario Land Shake JPN

«©NCSX» Nintendo's Wario Land Shake isn't the first motion-sensitive Wario game. Semi-old timers may remember the Gameboy Advance title Mawaru Made in Wario from 2004 which was packaged in a cartridge that included a "rotate" sensor to detect movement. Instead of using the D-pad to maneuver, players moved the Gameboy itself in twisting motions.

   In Wario Land Shake, players hold the Wii Remote horizontally and use the d-pad to move Wario across side scrolling levels. The "1" button causes Wario to hurtle forward while the "2" button makes him jump. The game mechanics also demand the occasional motion-fueled Wii Remote shake to perform certain actions to help Wario out. There's an up-and-down motion and a side-to-side rocking motion as well to make Wario perform special moves to conquer foes and obstacles alike. By shoving the Wiimote up and down abruptly, Wario slams his fist onto the ground which causes the entire world to shake. He's powerful like that. Since Wario is a world traveler, he'll traipse through the the desert, swim in the sea, spelunk through underground caverns, and even wander through the jungle and swing on vines.
