«©NCSX» We passed the halfway point for 2008 last month and we've covered a good amount of Space Invaders 30th Anniversary products thus far. There's more on the way however. Next up in the Invaders merchandising parade is a trio of raglan t-shirts which feature colorful Space Invaders designs. The shirts are listed as "Free Size" which means they'll fit most average body types unless you're built like a gorilla. We're partial to the "I ♥ Space Invaders" shirt for its simplicity and clean design. Preorders are welcome to ship in November 2008 at US$19.90 per shirt.

«©NCSX» Back in October of 1938, a radio broadcast titled, "The War of the Worlds" as narrated by Orson Welles sent a portion of the American populace into a panic. People listening to the program thought that a real Martian invasion was in progress and ran for the hills. Others hid underneath their beds and waited for Armageddon to arrive.

  By morning, all was well because... it was just a radio drama. The episode however demonstrated that perception is stronger (stranger?) than reality. Taito has been busy with Space Invaders this year but they're branching out on the theme. For their UFO-One Light product, the company meddles with another sort of invasion - actual UFO toys that fly in the sky and feature banded lights. A pair of rotary-blades on top of the toy provides the lift to take to the air and control is handled through a handheld remote control. NCS started preorders for a similar UFO toy earlier this year and we're thinking that we can start a perceived invasion if we launch enough of these toys in downtown Manhattan. Preorders ship in November 2008.

«©NCSX» The fashion house of Roen teams up with Medicom once again to create a version of Mickey that few ever get to see. In his latest Roen designed turn, Mickey gets bandaged up like a mummy but not quite all the way. Instead of a neat and concise wrapper that covers the rodent's entire body, the bandages are loose and haphazardly arranged. Other notable features include a paintbrush in Mickey's right hand and a tongue that hangs loosely from the Mickster's mouth.

   Mummy Mickey measures 15cm or 5.90" in height and is sculpted of polyvinyl chloride. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late November 2008 at JPY6000 or US$58.90 from NCS. Please note that we are currently only planning on stocking the Japanese version of the figure.

In his MC-06 toy incarnation, Convoy is posable and hefts a squat laser blaster called "Surge" in addition to the twin mini-cannons atop his gauntlets. The "Surge" blaster/action figure included in the package transforms from sleek silver jetfighter to humanoid robot to hand cannon for a total of three formations.
