Synopsis
«©NCSX» Taking
place during the Future Arc of the Hitman
Reborn! serial, the latest game based on the
popular franchise features fast and fluid 3D
fighting action. As the story goes, a
triangular-shaped container called the Delta Box
which holds untold power has been opened in the
future and agents from the main Mafia families are
all in a mad dash to procure it for themselves.
Since it is the Future Arc, Tsuna is a powered-up
version of himself and this is evident during the
first battle against Gokudera. Tsuna can thrust around the battlefield and wallop opponents with
explosive attacks. Gokudera's dynamite-throwing
antics just aren't any match against a firebrand
like Tsuna.
The 16 fighters in the game are culled from the Hitman mange/anime series and
include Yamamoto, Dino, Lambo, Chrome, Hibari, and
more. At the outset of the game, a total of 11
fighters are selectable but 5 must be unlocked
before they're playable. Along with one-on-one mission-based battles,
teams of fighters also go to war within an expansive 3D
battlefield.
Hitman Reborn features the "Battle Range System" where attacks may
be customized in term of Short, Middle, and Long
range offensive moves. The Wii version of the game uses both
the Nunchuk and Wii Remote for the controls. The
Nunchuk moves the main character while the "Z"
button is used to activate a dash move. The "A"
button on the Wii Remote sets off an attack and the
D-pad centers the camera on the opponent.

Game Notes
» Two-on-two battles are a playable option where
you control one fighter and the computer controls
another against two COM-controlled fighters.
» If a character thrusts around too much, he'll
become tired and stand around panting while he
recovers his stamina. At that time that he's
panting, he is vulnerable to attack.
» The playable characters at the outset are:
Tsuna
Gokudera
Dino
Yamamoto
Lambo
Ryohei
Chrome
Xanxus
Squalo
Belphegor
Hibari
Another five characters are locked and must be
uncovered before they're usable.
» In the "NOW LOADING" screen, a little chick
bounces on top of the letter "O" in LOADING.
» If the Long Range option is selected, Gokudera's
only attack is the throwing of explosives which turn
into missiles in mid-air. He has no punches or kicks
so he's only useful as a long range fighter.
Pressing the Z button will cause him to perform an
evasive tumble.
» The voice actors from the animated series lend
their voices to the interactive sequences that
appear in the Story Mode of the game. At the outset,
Hibari pays a visit to Tsuna, Gokudera, and Reborn
where he apprises them of the Delta Box and its
power.
» To skip interactive sequences, press the "+"
button on the Wii Remote so that you can get to the
fighting quicker.
» The Delta Box starts off triangular but then turns
into a coffin-like rectangular box that causes
Gokudera a little bit of trouble in the introductory
sequence. Can Tsuna and friends uncover the secrets
of the Delta Box before it... consumes them all?
» After defeating Gokudera in the first battle in
the Story Mode, players may choose Tsuna, Chrome, or
Xanxus to move the story along and participate in
the next battle. If you select Xanxus, you'll
control him in a 1-on-1 bout against Belphegor that
takes place in the school library. Xanxus attacks
with gunfire while Belphegor causes little sharp
silverware-like objects to appear above an
opponent's head that eventually close in for the
kill. The books and bookshelves in the library are
interactive and may be bumped into and wrecked.
