«©NCSX» When the latest Ryu Ga Gotoku game ships in Japan next month, Sega and Wavemaster will also release a soundtrack to accompany the software. Although the publisher hasn't updated the track listing as of last night, Japanese distributors started accepting preorders a few days ago. In the game, players reprise the role of a Yakuza henchman with a heart of gold who uses brute force and fighting skills to do his job. The music in previous RGG releases have generally been energetic so we're expecting more of the same uptempo beats that have permeated the last two games.
   In Ryu Ga Gotoku 3, Kiryu gets to do some karaoke so there's tracks in the upcoming soundtrack where the voice actor (Takaya Kuroda) who plays him belts out a few tunes. The young girl named Haruka (CV: Rie Kugimiya) who Kiryu adopted also sings karaoke in the game so she'll also do a little crooning on the CD. Preorders are welcome to ship on Feb 26 2009.

«©NCSX» The Warring States period of Japanese history has inspired hundreds of games over the past couple of decades. Notable entries included early war simulations by Koei such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Nobunaga's Ambition. War sims aren't as prevalent as they once were in the gaming market but they occasionally make it to market. System Soft Alpha specializes in war games and the company announces a new war simulation which is based on the turbulent Warring States era.
   Players take on the role of a lord who governs his territory with the help of generals, laborers, and troops. By making alliances with neighboring territories and waging war on others, the ultimate goal is reunification of Japan under a single house. To get players started, a tutorial explains the controls, operations, and overall menu functions. The game is played in phases which allows gamers to set policy, move troops, and perform other adjustments in a straightforward manner.
   Preorders are welcome for a PS2 version of Sengoku Tenka Touitsu and a PSP version which includes a bonus scenario.

«©NCSX» Sora of Kingdom Hearts fame has a well-defined look that begins with his spiky hair followed by his blue eyes and an outfit that's decidedly Disney-esque. Who else would wear pantaloons that terminate directly below the knees with high top sneakers?

   When the Kingdom Hearts Mobile service was unleashed in Japan, an online avatar version of Sora was created which may best be described as simplified-Sora. Although his facial features have been blotted down for the most part, the spiky hair and Keyblade are dead giveaways that this is the hero of the Kingdom Hearts series.

   Square Enix has opened up preorders for a Sora Avatar Static Arts Sofubi (Soft Vinyl Figure) which measures 25cm or roughly 10" tall. Sora wears a red, white, and black ensemble that's accentuated by a pair of yellow sneakers with black trim. Sora's hand may be used to grip the vinyl Keyblade which is included with the figure. Additional accessories on the figure consist of a blue belt and a necklace. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late June 2009 at JPY9800 or US$109.90 from NCS.

Inclement Weather
   Due to snow in NYC and the consequent flight delays, this week's Japanese shipments are scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning. The snow was heavy overnight but has begun to taper off. If our shipments make it in this afternoon before 4PM EST, we'll process and ship preorders today.

   NCS will restock Japanese 1400p and 3500p cards tomorrow. We should also restock Japanese Playstation Network Tickets in the JPY5000 denomination by tomorrow afternoon.

«©NCSX» When Mushihimesame was released for the Playstation 2 a few years ago, Taito also shipped a limited edition version of the game which included a Princess Reko figure. She's the heroine of the game and the figure features her as a wee lassie holding aloft her pet Kiniro when it was just a baby beetle. Reko seemingly beams with pride while baby Kiniro appears content just to be somewhere.

   Reko stands upon a grassy patch with two daisies to the left and right of her feet. The diorama measures approximately 5" tall from grass patch to the tip of Kiniro's pointy horn. Miss Reko and Kiniro are packaged in a cardboard backed blister pack which slips into the mint condition Mushihimesama Limited Edition cardboard box.
