Wii One Piece Unlimited Cruise Episode 2 - New, Rstk Soon

NCS Game Synopsis
«©NCSX» In the first episode of One Piece Unlimited Cruise, Luffy and the crew of the Jolly Roger found themselves in an adventure which spanned a series of islands. Players started the game off with Luffy but eventually got to control all of the members of the Straw Hats Pirates crew in sequential bite-sized episodes.

The sequel to the first Unlimited Cruise game features more of the same but new islands such as Desert Island and Marsh Island may be visited and conquered. New characters and adversaries also join the cast to provide drama and adversity such as
Eustace "Captain" Kidd who leads the Kidd Pirates on the high seas. The sequel also allows players to choose any character at any time - if you're initially traipsing around Desert Island as Namie, you can simply press the "-" button and select another Straw Hats Pirates from the roster of nine.

When NCS opened preorders for the game a few months ago, Bandai touted an improved battle system but after playing the game for about an hour this morning, it feels the same as before. For example, Luffy's spin-kick attack and punches haven't changed. Tools such as the pickaxe, the fishing pole, or the net are still handled the same way as before by wagging the Wii Remote in side-to-side motion.

NCS Game Notes
» Once the game boots up, the Straw Hat Pirates are all lounging on the deck of the Jolly Roger and enjoying the music played by Franky and Skeletor Brook. If you leave it alone, some scenes from the game will play which gives a good idea of what you're in for when the game proper starts.

» Upon starting a new game, you're in control of Luffy and facing off against a gang of brown humanoid creatures. Perform some spin kicks and punches to knock them all out. After defeating them, Luffy has to walk forward onto the dingy to return to the Jolly Roger where he faces another gang of brown creatures on the deck of the ship.

» After defeating the bunch of creatures, a cinematic event plays where a humongous set of tentacles latch onto the mast of the Jolly Roger. Roronoah slices the tentacles off but more tentacles appear to threaten the shipmates. Luffy calls upon Franky to jet and the ship blasts off into the air.

» In the next scene, the crew of the Jolly Roger peer into a crystal ball to see the creature that threatened them earlier wreaking havoc elsewhere. They resolve to investigate further.

» Afterwards, control is handed over once again and Luffy may explore the Jolly Roger and check out the deck, the cabin, and other key locations.

» If you visit the top deck, you'll notice that the Straw Hat Pirates have a couple of citrus trees growing in a planter. Citrus helps prevent scurvy.

» Tools that may be found on the ship include a fishing pole, net, and pickaxe. Luffy can do some fishing on the Jolly Roger by throwing out the line and lure. We caught a bluish creature that looked like a mushroom.

» To select any character at any time, press the "-" button and then select your hero.

» To get off the ship and onto the next island, press the "+" button and then press the "A" button on the eighth selection which is underneath the 5 question marks.

» We chose to play as Namie in the next mission and she wanders around a desert expanse where she battles soldiers and brown creatures. To keep track of where you're going, you can press the "+" button to view a portion of the map that you're on. As you explore further, more sections of the map are revealed. Your hero is represented by a green arrow on the topography.

» The nine playable characters are
Roronoa
Namie
Usopp
Sanji
Luffy
Chopper
Nico Robin
Franky
Brook
