«©NCSX» The original set of MGS4 Ration Sound Keychains from earlier this year enjoyed stellar sales and sold out a few days after our allotment arrived from Japan. We tried to restock the toys but our persistent efforts were met with silence and in the case of one vendor, outright annoyance and a retort of "cease and desist." At the very least, we tried.

   System Service has started preorders for a second series of MGS4 Ration Sound Keychains which feature another set of six toys that emit sounds and phrases from the Metal Gear Solid 4 game. The character voices captured are: "Old Snake A," "Old Snake B," "Otacon," "Raiden," and "Liquid Ocelot." We were hoping for a Ration Sound Keychain that blares out Old Snake's "cough-hack-cough" sound effect but maybe next time. To listen to any of the sound effects, users simply press the button on the front of each keychain. Preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late December 2009.

«©NCSX» Hokkaido Television Broadcasting Co created their cap-wearing mascot back in 1997 and we're guessing the designers found inspiration in baseball, the Michelin Man, and perhaps Pac-Man. The mascot's name is on-chan and he has a wide smile, short arms, and segmented legs. His little pet is a monster called Guchi. Before on-chan came along, HTB's mascot was a rascal named Kunta-kun but it was phased out after nearly 20 years of service. The On-Chan Nendoroid measures 12cm (4.72") tall and is constructed of PVC. The figure features a multiple points of articulation which allows it to be posed and configured in various stances. The production is by Orchid Seed with sculpting work by Masāki Kobayashi.

«©NCSX» Megahouse released the One Piece Portrait of Pirates Dracule Mihawk figure earlier this year and it sold out with the quickness. Customers who were unable to purchase the POP rendition of Dracule the first time around are getting another chance this November when Megahouse issues a new production of the popular figure.

   Dracule is a masterful sword handler who wears a flamboyant outfit that's in direct contrast to his serious nature and gritty demeanor. In the One Piece animated series, Dracule keeps a watchful eye over Roronoa Zoro but not because he cares about him. Dracule is tracking of Zoro's sword fighting progress and wants to fight against him when Zoro reaches the peak of his sword fighting abilities. The POP Deluxe Dracule figure measures 23.50cm or 9.25" tall and preorders are welcome to ship in mid-late November 2009 at JPY6240 or US$73.90 from NCS.

    The first batches of Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Every copy of the game is bundled with a handheld pedometer called the "PokéWalker" which is designed to look like a little Pokéball with a black & white LCD screen. We'll begin processing and shipping preorders on Friday but please note that some Pokemon shipments may be delayed until next Monday due to late dispatch from Tokyo last night. New orders that are placed now will ship on Thursday of next week.

«©NCSX» When the PC-Engine first debuted in Japan on October 30, 1987, it was priced at a lofty JPY24,800 or US$269.10 as of this morning’s exchange rate. Adjusted for inflation, that’s US$461.46 in 2007 dollars. To target a less affluent customer base, NEC and Hudson released the PC-Engine Shuttle in 1989 at JPY18,800 which shipped with a modified expansion port and wasn’t compatible with the CD-Rom or Super CD-Rom. Since ram was prohibitively expensive back in the day, the Shuttle also didn’t have any way of storing save-game data... until NEC released the Shuttle Backup Unit. The unit includes a rechargeable Ni-Cad battery inside.

Product Condition: NCS' remaining inventory is brand new and factory boxed. The condition of the cardboard boxes ranges from excellent to mint condition and the units we're selling are from our private collection.
