«©NCSX» Lina and her friend Luon are wandering around the woods one day when a fire erupts. The silly forest fairies accuse Lina of arson and hold her responsible for the extensive damage to the forest. The devastation is so bad that all the trees have been stripped of their leaves and all that remains are burnt out trunks. Despite her innocence, Lina decides to help the fairies rebuild the woodlands by using her alchemy skills.
   Instead of working in a comfortable studio like previous heroines in the Atelier games, Lina becomes a traveling alchemist who goes around in a horse drawn cart and peddles her newly synthesized products to reap riches and rewards. Joining her are a number of friends and supporters such as Gerard Doche, Farrah Wesheit, Marcherra Waschen, and Herrenlose Spada.

«©NCSX» Taito gave birth to Darius back in 1986 with a coin-op shoot 'em up that used three television screens to seamlessly portray the expansive scrolling action. It was a really wide screen. Twenty three years later, Taito's owned by Square Enix and they're giving the Darius franchise another go with Darius Burst on the widescreen aspect of the PSP.

   Darius Burst is a brand new shooter which stays true to the conventions of the series with pick-up power-ups, large end-level bosses, and the familiar stage selection tree. A new ultimate attack dubbed "Burst" is also featured in the game which can be used to confront mega-mighty blasts from bosses. Similar to the previous games in the Darius series, the end-level bosses are inspired by marine life except they have angry eyes, sharp teeth, and shoot up a storm of buckshot.

«©NCSX» Konata Izumi is a blue-haired teenager who's fanatical about video games and anime. Call her the female personification of what is commonly known as an otaku... a creature which is usually of the male gender. Konata's classmates and confidantes are Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, and the aristocratic Miyuki Takara. Together, the quartet enjoy life, play video games, and find themselves involved in assorted escapades. In the new PSP Lucky Star game, Konata and friends are aspiring internet idols who train and go on auditions to become an online superstar to revitalize the flagging fortunes of Akihabara. Players take on the role of a manager who helps the girls reach their full potential.

   Net Idol Meister kicks off with an interactive sequence which establishes the story but mini-games eventually pop up which include button-tapping rhythm exercises, a rapid-fire retail service game, side scrolling running and dodging, quizzes, and a very rudimentary and stilted one-on-one fighting challenge.

«©NCSX» SNK's Metal Slug 7 was released in the summer of 2008 for the Nintendo DS and one year later, SNK re-releases it on the Playstation Portable with a few new features for added value. Six army grunts are featured in the game including Slug stalwarts such as Marco and Eri. Ralf Jones and Clarke Still from the King of Fighters are also in the cast. Similar to the previous Metal Slug releases, the soldiers run from left to right across seven horizontally scrolling battlefield stages and shoot, jump, and lob bombs at enemy forces. When opposition grunts are shot, they'll burst with ruddy splashes of blood for some brutal realism. The end of each level is blocked by a boss which is generally challenging and formidable.

   New features in the PSP release include a large collection of mini-games and ad-hoc cooperative play so gamers can link up and blast away like a two-person army corps. Upon starting up the game, the options are:

Fuggedaboutit, those codgers are frail and infirm thanks to decades of lugging those ungodly Proton Packs on their backs. Nowadays, when paranormal activity flares up, you call The Devil Hunters who're also known as Exorsister. Repeat: Exorsister - four buxom warriors (Angela Theron, Gloria Rich, Mina Berry, and Silva Conscious) who have sword-handling skills, coltish legs, and skimpy outfits that would put the blush on almost anyone.

   Tamsoft and D3 Publisher team up once again for a heroine-themed 3D hack 'n slasher. Oneechan Bara fans will recognize Tamsoft as the developer who brought Aya and Saki to life. To pay homage to Oneechan, one of the outfits that may be unlocked in Exorcister is Aya's outlandish yet starkly recognizable outfit which can be accessorized with a billowing feather boa. In Exorsister, players choose a girl from the four available choices and go to war against monsters, demons, and the like in 3D worlds. A customization mode allows players to dress the girls up in various outfits of the sexy kind and arm them with all manner of weapons including an axe, a hammer, a bazooka, swords, and more. The hammer looks a bit outlandish when swung upon a demon but it undoubtedly packs a wallop.   

   A trial version of Exorsister may be downloaded from D3 Publisher's website. Please note that firmware v6.10 is required to boot the software.
