NCS Product Synopsis Update: April 2, 2010 «©NCSX» Video games, MTV, and computers for the masses came into their own in the 1980s and growing up during that period was a wonderful time. Kids who were introduced to computers in the 80s got to experience the internet revolution as it sparked, grew, and took over the world. Along with the technological innovations witnessed between 1980 and 2000, video games of every type, stripe, and class reached computers, consoles, portables, and phones.    Along with platform-based games, there were the Game & Watch dedicated handhelds which were originally released in 1980 by Nintendo. The Game & Watch toys offered players a simple gaming experience with single-minded objectives. For example, in the game Vermin, players had to whack moles while the aptly named Fire demanded that players rescue jumpers who were leaping from a burning building.    It's been a while since the Game & Watch handhelds were released but Takara Tomy is releasing a revival. Sort of. The Game & Watch Mini Solar Keychains look like their larger forebears but they're miniature renditions that don't actually play any games. A solar panel is built into each keychain which powers the LCD screen which shows a short action sequence of a Game & Watch game. The buttons don't allow you to play the game and you'll only get to watch whatever happens on screen. The "Left" button is a dummy button and the "Right" button on the handheld may be pressed to speed up the graphics on screen.
