Wii Sengoku Basara 3 - New Import, Restock Soon

From the Publisher
The next evolution in producer of Devil May Cry 4, Hiroyuki Kobayashi’s BASARA series is coming to PLAYSTATION®3 and Wii with Sengoku BASARA 3. Set during a tumultuous period of Japanese history, Sengoku BASARA 3 follows players as they fight their way to the dramatic battle of Sekigahara. Players will take up the swords and spears of more than a dozen fierce samurai warriors in huge battles against hundreds of opponents in many exciting stages that lead up to the main event.

Featuring unique playable characters, as well as supporting generals who will make it easier to command and lead armies, players will see the battle from the perspective of each military commander with the ultimate goal of re-writing history to rule all of 16th century Japan. In the dynamic new “Hero’s Story” mode, the player’s decisions impact history with a redesigned story mode. Based on choices made by the player, new drama unfolds as friends become enemies, enemies become friends, and a new Sengoku story unfolds. Adding a new strategic element to the game, forces can fight for control/taking over of camps and ultimately entire battlefields.

NCS Game Notes
» The cinematic intro is longer than we expected and shows the various generals using their skills and powers in assorted scenarios where they run, spin, slash, and jump.

» At the outset of the game, only six generals are available for the choosing. Select a character and a specially tailored cinema kicks off the game where drama and bloodshed are in play.

» Similar to previous Sengoku Basara games, the menus are only in Japanese.

» A CV gallery allows players to listen to the utterances and raspy sayings of all six generals. A CG gallery also gives players the opportunity to view the opening CG cinema and a second CG cinema. Four additional cinemas are locked but they're unlocked upon meeting conditions in the game. An illustrations gallery and two other galleries require unlocking before their respective pieces of content are viewable.

» A History section recounts major battles and key events during the Warring States period of Japanese in plain Japanese text.

» The enemies in SB3 aren't aggressive and they sort of stand around waiting for things to happen. Occasionally, an intrepid enemy grunt will approach but they don't necessarily attack en masse like soldiers are supposed to. Some battlefields are littered with booby traps. For example, what looks like a lit lamp-candle on the ground will trigger a cage of spikes to spring upwards. Another booby trap is a length of rope that's stretched between two posts. If it's triggered, a rain of spears falls from the sky.

» Some giant-sized enemies are outfitted with medieval Gatling guns which pack a multi-hit wallop.
