PS2 J-League Winning Eleven 2010 Club Championship - New

NCS Product Synopsis
Update: August 06, 2010
«©NCSX» The World Cup's done and the Japanese team's performance was commendable. Until the next Cup, Japanese soccer fans have the regular J-League season to look forward to and Konami's J-League Winning Eleven games to twiddle with.

J-League Winning Eleven 2010 Club Championship won't be the last ever Playstation 2 game. There's more PS2 wares on schedule but it'll probably be the final Winning Eleven release on the console since the platform torch has been passed onto the PS3. In the game, players take control of a J-League soccer club and guide it to victory after victory. Upon booting the game, a live-action introductory sequence plays where J-League teams and attendant players engage in soccer hi jinx. The title screen features 12 game modes which are arrayed on the left side of the screen and include "Master League Mode," "Cup Mode," "Emperor Cup," and a "J-Player Mode" where a brand new soccer player is built from scratch and attributes are apportioned. The new player joins a soccer club and attempts to become a superstar. When playing a "J-Player" match, gamers only control one player and the soccer action will go on without him if he decides to stand there and become an on-field spectator. All 37 J-League teams are represented in the game along with 117 international squads for a total of 154 teams.

The J-Player Mode is probably the most realistic game mode in that players control only one member of a team. If the match isn't going well, players can't switch between players with the press of a trigger button and use the entire team to turn the tide. Since only one soccer player can be controlled, it's up to the gamer's skill to rise up, become a fantasista, and lead his team to victory all by his lonesome.
