“Apathy: The
Seven Mysteries of Narukami Academy” (also known
as “Apathy: Narugami Gakuen Nana Fushigi”) is a
visual novel adventure game written and scripted
by Takiya Iijima, who has released many classic
RPGs and adventures, and developed by Mebius. In
the game, you play Shuichi Sakagami, a
first-year student and member of the school
newspaper club. His task is to gather
information from seven storytellers about the
Seven Mysteries for the school newspaper, so he
is going to listen to one scary ghost story at a
time from the seven.
However, when he opens the club room door, he finds only six people
present. Despite this, the meeting begins, and
the room fills with an ominous atmosphere. What
kind of stories will the six people tell, and
what awaits Shuichi at the end? In the middle of
a story, the storytellers will ask Sakagami
questions and give their impressions. These are
presented as options, and the story will change
depending on your answers.
Additionally, there’s a DLC called “Dangerous Transfer Student” (“Kikenna
Tenkosei”), originally released on October 26,
2023, which introduces a new mystery at Narukami
Academy. In this DLC, we meet Daisei Shindo, a
popular new student among classmates and
teachers. However, things suddenly change at
Narukami Academy upon his arrival.
With the update at the end of 2022, over 3,000 options and over 650
endings have been prepared, and it has been well
received by players for both quality and
quantity. In addition, if you have save data for
this game, you can enjoy the additional scenario
in the latest "Apathy" series scheduled to be
released this winter 2024.
Over 100 characters, over 650 endings, and over 3 million text
combinations in total.
The packaging of this product is illustrated by the character
designer Nami Kurana.
