Kid Klown made his first appearance on the Super Famicom a few years back. This new version of Kid Klown follows the SFC version's style of gameplay and graphic style very closely with a 32-bit edge. When Kid Klown came out on the SFC, the first impression I got was that this was very much an arcade quality game on the venerable 16-bit. The graphics were simply vibrant and shone with fine definition. The premise of the game has you, Klown, racing through different levels to reach the end while your nemesis Dirty Joe comes at you with dirty tricks and other novelties from the House of Acme. Kid Klown is a cool little guy who moves smoothly and has a lot of antics. When he steps on a tack, he will hop around grabbing his foot as if a tack would really hurt that bad. He will also trip and fall flat on his face if he runs too fast and forgets that tree trunks are best avoided when speeding down a path at 40mph. There are 14 levels in the PS version and fans of platform action game will enjoy this one. The controls are solid and Kid responds well to your commands. His little antics do tend to get grating after you've seen them for the 30th time which might leave you in want of a 'No Antic' option in the main menu but let him have his fun, this is a playable and beautiful looking action game that anyone can enjoy.
