| Sega's legendary AM2 division takes a swing at making music videos worthy of a stint on MTV if only Namie were better known in the States. Namie Amuro is a very popular Japanese pop idol who raged through Japan last year with her lively dance steps and gyrating moves. Two of her songs are featured in this volume "Chase the Chance" and "You're My Sunshine" which have both gone platinum in Japan. AM2 used sophisticated motion capture techniques to capture the essence of movement and footwork that is Namie. The videos may be completely controlled, after all, you are the virtual viewer. You can rotate the view of the camera 360 degrees and range through many different sets and outfit Namie in various costumes and attire. The videos play fluidly and are comparable in quality to full screen MPEG-1. | ![]() |

In addition to the videos, there are four simple games to play: a card game, a maze action applet and two others. Digital Dance Mix serves a couple of purposes for the Saturn and Namie Amuro. First, it is a strong promotional tool that seamlessly merges the music, video and videogame markets in Japan all in one quality package. Secondly, it is a nice plus on Sega's camp to capture (literally) a popular singing idol and boost their Q rating in Japan. |

A good sell through should assure pop idol fans of more Digital Dance mix type releases in the coming months.
