Atlus is almost legendary in the number of shooters that they have published. Thats their forte and many more shooters can be expected from Atlus this November. In the time being, we have this new puzzle game to contend with. Dejikuro is a fun, very Japanese crossword puzzle game with a cat as the main character. No, its not O-Chan, but a new character from Atlus who looks a lot more like a cat than O-Chan does. The gameplay is simple at first but it gets progressively more difficult in later levels. The playfield is made up of a bunch of blocks that are numbered 1 through 4 (or a higher number depending on the level you're on) and you have to flip them over to match a highlighted Japanese character on your selection screen. You will need to know some Japanese to play this puzzle game but its a refreshing change of pace from the many Tetris type puzzle games that have come out in recent years. Dejikuro makes you use logic and puzzle solving skills to finish each 'table'. A tutorial in the options menu will bring new Deji inductees up to speed on the basic play mechanics of the game. A 'quest mode' is included in this game where you travel on a world map. When you beat a certain level, your kitty will get a treasure chest as a reward. An added bonus is the unintentional (?) screen saver that kicks in when you do not touch the joypad for a few minutes.
