| Japan's beloved blue
cat returns in another Playstation romp. Last year's
Doraemon game was an educational platform game aimed at
kids. This year's version is a full fledged
platform-action game with no redeeming educational values
to speak of. Not that its a bad thing. Doraemon 2 plays
well and treats the player to some vibrant eye candy.
Players get to control Doraemon or any of its friends
from the anime series. These characters range from the
kid with the eyeglasses named Nobita to the old guy with
the funny suits. In the picture to the upper-right, one
of Doraemon's co-stars, Shizuka, shoots at cartoony,
animated adversaries with her bubble gun. The different
levels in the game will take you through underwater
locales, beautiful forest scenes and fantasy scenarios
worthy of being painted cartoon cels. Platformers are far
and few between on the Playstation and this one is worth
a look. |
