| FYI there are currently three
Shindou re-releases in Japan for the Nintendo 64. They are: Mario 64, Wave Race and
J-League Winning Eleven. Most if not all future Japanese Nintendo 64 releases will support
the rumble pack. There are a couple of third party rumblers in the marketplace that we
have decided not to carry. One from Nyko that we tried did not have the same rumbling
effect as the official pak from Nintendo and the feel of the unit was not as solid as
Nintendo's pak. There's a large influx of third party goods in the marketplace nowadays
and the overall quality is mediocre but they do satisfy some of the market demand for
accessories. |
| Keeping in the vein of rumble
paks, many customers have inquired about the Japanese Sony analog pad which offers force
feedback. Note that Sony discontinued this pad a few months ago and it is no longer
available. Sony's official explanation for the cancellation of this accessory was that the
defect rate was high and not viable. Tha explanation sounds suspect since any product can
be revised and made to work better; to totally abandon the force feedback analog pad was
surprising since the sales were very strong. Sony still sells a standard analog pad in
Japan and the USA that offers no feedback. Nintendo did threaten legal action against Sony
concerning the force feedback a couple of months back so maybe that's the reason why the
pad was abandoned. |
| There have been some
questions regarding new stock that we do not source due to lack of demand. For example,
Lindacube Again is slated for release on September 25th. I think it's an interesting game
but pre-orders from our wholesale chain and from retail customers have numbered in the low
teens. We will still order this title but only after it's market release in Japan. That
is, we won't have it shipped on the first day of release but only afterwards when we are
allowed to order in lower quantities from supplier overstock. So, we'll still get it but a
week or so later. Please note that we can order anything new from Japan for you if you
wish to make a special order. The only difference is that we will not receive it on the
same day as the release schedule in Japan. There are some interesting games expected in
the next couple of months that we won't source when they are released due to minimum
quantity requirements but we can always pick them up a few days after release. So, yes,
feel free to place any special orders that you might have for upcoming stock. |
| Have
a great weekend. |
