We get a
large amount of e-mail every day regarding the products we sell and the items that we post
in our Daily Journal. Since we get a lot of e-mail on certain subjects, we figure that
other people have the same questions. At the end of every week, we'll round up some of the
most commonly asked questions and summarize them here. This week, we have 3 questions that
were asked quite a bit this week.
| Will the Sega 4MB ram card increase my Saturn's memory to 6MB or does it
just bump the internal memory up to 4MB total? |
| The 4MB card contains 4 megabytes of
ram, which is 32 megabits. This amount of memory works on top of the 2 megabytes of internal ram that
the Saturn contains so a game such as X-Men vs Street Fighter will have 6 megabytes (48 mbits) available
to it. |
| Can I use the Sega 4MB card for current games that use the 1 MB card
such as Waku Waku Seven? |
| It is likely, since ram is
ram but if the 4MB memory card's addressing is not designed to accomodate 1 MB
ram allocation then it will not work. I.e, when you play a game such as Waku Waku Seven,
which uses the 1 MB card, the software will look for the 1 MB card. If the 4 MB card is
not designed to address 1 MB games, it won't work.

| When is the Japanese version of Neo-CD KoF'97 expected? And when can I
expect the USA version? |
| We have the Japanese version of
KoF'97 available for shipping today. The American version is
expected next week from SNK of America. They are currently completely
sold out at the moment and did not process our pre-order (that we placed 2
months ago) when they first
got the stock this past Wednesday. Hm, I suppose they are in the
process of moving... |
|
We have a lot of restock
coming in next week, hopefully by Monday. All pre-orders have been noted and will be
dispatched as soon as we restock.

Yesterday,
we mentioned that we would be closing a little bit earlier today due to the Halloween
Parade that takes place every year in lower Manhattan. There was quite a bit of e-mail and
interest on what actually takes place in this parade. I have been witness to the parade
for the past 4 years and it gets bigger and odder every year. At about 4pm to 5pm, ghouls
and oddly dressed participants will start roaming the streets and head towards Spring
Street, which is the beginning of the parade. Policemen will also start erecting barriers
and diverting traffic patterns to clear the way for the stream of people. The usual
hundreds (thousands?) of parade watchers usually set up camp at 5pm and wait for the
parade to pass by. Hundreds of costumed people wil begin the procession at 6pm from Spring
Street to 22nd Street. By the time they get up to 22nd, it's 6th Avenue which pretty much
destroys traffic patterns for midtown Manhattan. There have been a lot of cool costumes
I've seen. I suppose some of the more clever ones were ones that accessorized. One guy had
a costume so that it looked like he had a siamese twin attached to him. Another guy had a
little growth coming out of his stomach that looked like a little baby. Anyway, the parade
is an incredible sight and definitely shows off the spirit and imagination of the denizens
of the Village. I recommend it for tourists who wish to see some of the weirder stuff that
New York has to offer. And, it only comes around once a year in the fall so don't add it
to your summer vacation plans. |
