King of Fighters 95

Yes King of Fighters '96 is out on the Neo-Geo cartridge system but KoF'95 is still a formidable contender. Those who are unfamiliar with this series will be treated to team competition fighting where you choose a team of three fighters to duke it out with other teams of pugilistic minded fighters. The fighters in the game have been culled from other SNK fighting games who all come together in one big fighting 'league'. The Sony Playstation version is a very good port which exceeded my expectations when it first appeared. I expected an inferior product compared to the Saturn version which uses a rom cartridge but lo and behold, both versions are nearly identical to each other. The Playstation version's graphics are more true to the Neo Geo original whereas the Saturn version has characters that look 'slimmed' down. The controls flow smoothly and the gameplay is close to the Neo original. The new restock price makes this disc a fine deal for players who prefer the Japanese versions of games. It also beats the usual American KOF95 price by about $20.
