SNK's latest and greatest shows that they can still punch and kick with some of the best fighters out there with its refined gameplay and team battle action. There are 9 teams to choose from comprised of 27 fighters. Overkill? Nah, I'm still waiting for SNK to release a fighting game that includes every one of their characters. Perhaps call it, the Mother of all King of Fighters. I felt a tinge of fear when I played the extremely poor Shinoken, their last fighting game but that was a fluke. Ninja Masters and KoF 96 prove again that SNK has what it takes to be considered the top dog, right next to Capcom in 2-D fighting games. SNK has not ventured into 3-D fighting games yet but Capcom has branched out into the 3-D world with this week's Star Gladiator release. I suppose SNK will venture into 3-D fighting games sometime in the near future but until then, we have Samurai Shodown 4 to look forward to this winter.
