Multi-Racing Championship is restocked this week for the Nintendo 64 after last week's sell-out. While MRC won't singlehandedly revitalize a sagging N64 market in Japan, it is the best N64 racing game thus far. MRC features dead-on control, sharp graphics and great 2 player simultaneous gameplay. The previous couple of N64 racing games such as Cruisin' USA and Human Grand Prix were both unspectacular and were sorely lacking in almost every respect. MRC changes the landscape and shows what good planning and coding can do for the up and coming class of N64 racing games. As an added bonus, MRC supports the rumble pak.
| Multi Racing Championship features photo-realistic graphics and landscapes that look true to life. The whole game looks almost arcade class with the the quality of the graphics and the great animation. MRC won't give Sega's AM2 cause for fear but it does show some of the great graphics and motion that the N64 is capable of. As you're racing, sunlight will illuminate different parts of your car and leave shadows as your car races across the track. Puffy clouds against a blue sky also serve as a solid azure backdrop. | ![]() |

Two player simultaneous play is handled very well. The perspectives in each window reflect what each player should be seeing in reference to the other player and the environment. The split screens are also scaled perfectly with no scrunching or squishing down of the graphics. Racing game fans will enjoy MRC and finally get to see a great N64 racing game in action. The next Nintendo 64 racing game should be Rev Limit from Seta which for the most part looks like another great game. It should be, since Seta has delayed it for 2 months already.
