Fantasy VIII Extras |
|
Hori has announced two FFVIII themed items to ship along with Final Fantasy VIII when it
is released on February 11. The first item is a CD carrying case (US$20)
which can hold 6 CDs, a memory card, a Pocket Station and 6 guide books. The second item
is a memory card case (US$6) that is basically a CD jewel case with a
plastic leaf inside for holding 4 memory cards. A colorful FFVIII logo adorns the front of
the unit. |
| Pre-order
by simply e-mailing NCS
with your name, address, telephone number and a brief message. We'll confirm pre-orders a
few days before the item arrives. |

| Dreamcast
Shipping Schedule |
| The bulk of our Dreamcast shipment next week will consist of
Japanese units which include the 33.6K modem and the Passport software. Our price remains
at US$535 for the console and any game of your choice. NCS offers a 90 day
warranty for the DC where we will replace or repair (if it is within our technical
expertise) the console if there are problems within the first 90 days of purchase. We
steadfastly recommend the use of a 120V to 100V (~17W capacity) step down transformer with
a Japanese DC as a precautionary measure so that the proper voltage goes into the DC. Half
of the DC units will ship on Monday and the remaining half will ship on Tuesday - we are
splitting up dispatches in order to give each unit the proper amount of testing. |

| Yen
Equilibrium |
| The dollar firmed against the yen overnight as expected. What is
surprising is the relative weakness of the new Euro against the other major currencies. |

| Neo-CD
King of Fighters 98 |
| NCS has finally stocked the domestic version of NCD King of
Fighters 98 (US$65). This version, like the Japanese version, includes the
1999 CD-sized calender, which features artwork from the original, larger SNK Dramatic
Calender. |

| Step
Down Transformer |
| NCS will offer a treatise on the use of step down transformers next
week. It rehashes what we posted many years ago when the Playstation first hit the market
but hopefully it will answer all of the DC related questions that we're receiving now. |

| Capital
Markets |
|
Bulls are running again today. We're long S&P futures but cautiously bumping up
trailing stops as the market runs higher. As an aside, we look for Amazon to hit $200
today, or $600 pre-split. |
