Imports
Dreamcast Sengoku Turb
The next DC game will arrive on Wednesday. Sengoku Turb is a 3-D pastel colored RPG with action sequences where you fight adversaries on rolling green hills and other outdoor environments. Retail US$65.
Pre-order by simply e-mailing NCS with your name, address, telephone number and a brief message. We'll confirm pre-orders a few days before the item arrives.
Dreamcast Racing Controller
Along with the delay of Sega Rally 2 to January 28, the release of the DC racing controller has been pushed back to January 22.
Neo-Geo Freak
The January 1999 issue of the magazine for Neo-Geo fans is now in stock. An annual feature that is found only in the January issue is a look back at 1998's covers and some variants that never made it to print. Subscriptions will ship today. New orders are welcome.
Street Fighter Zero 3 Figures
Capcom will be shipping a set of four SFZ3 figures on January 15. The initial fighters that we are expecting include: Chun Li, Ken, Ryu, and Sakura. The price is expected to be in the US$35 ~ US$38 range. As we have seen with Capcom's licensed figures in the past, we expect excellent craftsmanship and detailing in the new figures. Pre-orders welcome.
Everything Else
Yen Equilibrium
The dollar continues to fall and import prices continue to rise. The currency situation is not following script and the overnight break below Y110 to the dollar is a serious breaking of support. The low was Y108.58. There was no sharp rebound and a fall to Y105 may be quick and nasty. As an aside, the Euro continues to get trounced with little conviction from buyers - an about face from the confidence exuded early last week.
Replay Pro 4 in 1
NCS has noticed that most returns of the SATURN 4 in 1 card are unnecessary. We will update our 4 in 1 page with this information but the gist is this: If you find that the 4 in 1 does not work when first plugged in, you will have to secure the connection by folding a small piece of paper (1/8") and wedging it in the front of the 4 in 1 so that it pushes against the upper rim of the cartridge slot. Every 4 in 1 cartridge that we've received in return over the past couple of weeks has worked properly on our demo Saturn console. EMS' manufacturing process for the card is nearly perfect and their QC filters out defective cards from ever being packaged and shipped.
Capital Markets
Bears are growling. NCS will stand aside this week to observe cash flows and index levels. We see new highs later this month but not now.
